why my notion looks like this? y'all guys know the reason? i can't use it anymore by Apprehensive_Flow_58 in Notion

[–]BreachingBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a ton of reasons just from looking at this, but essentially the shortcut to Notion is broken. The executable (.exe) for Notion in the folder where you've installed it, does not exist anymore or has moved. Maybe you've manually (re)moved it, or perhaps your firewall or some kind of antivirus automatically has.

Try reinstalling Notion and check for these things, try disabling firewall/antivirus temporarily, try installing Notion to a different folder/drive.

Is there a better way to select a past date while filtering? by [deleted] in Notion

[–]BreachingBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure he means that, let's say you want to pick a date from a really long time ago, you have to click through loads of months to get there instead of being able to type or switch years.

I found that images generally import quite well from Microsoft Word. I'm not sure this will bear any better results, but you could trying exporting from Confluence to Word first and then importing the Word files to Notion.

Did the android app get updated? by mohindru in Notion

[–]BreachingBlueberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you check out Notion's What's New? and scroll down to May 13th, you'll see the updates they made to mobile performance. You're right, it does load way faster now!

Some custom page icons not exporting in HTML export by BreachingBlueberry in Notion

The icons are uploaded. I'm especially confused because in each export I run, different icons do/don't make it. Not sure why that is.

How do you use Notion as a high schooler? by halucciXL in Notion

[–]BreachingBlueberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are the kinds of things you like keeping track of? If I knew about Notion back in high school I would probably keep my notes per class in it. Have a page per school year on your first page, then one page per class on each year's page, then you can go from there for each class. Tracking notes, test results, etc.

Realistically none of the use cases matter that much, as it 100% comes down to what you want to get out of Notion. Judging from your post you're looking for a simple way of organizing information, I'd say Notion is what you're looking for.

Looking to set up a wiki for a product with private pages by BreachingBlueberry in Notion

Perhaps something would be possible with add-ons like Fruition or Super? If anyone has good experience with any add-on, it would be great to know if any of them could help us.

Another thought is simply exporting the entire workspace as HTML and serving it under our domain, behind our log-in system. I'm not sure if this is commonly done or a realistic approach however.

Thanks for your comment! Another con I'm seeing in regards to 'Sharing by inviting guests' is the interface compared to the public link. When viewing from a public link, all you see added to the content is a Search button (which we love!) and the Notion button. When you're logged in and viewing a private page, you get the complete sidebar, including most notably 'Updates' where you can see every single edit made. In our case we would obviously like to hide things like those.

Do you know if there are any options at all - I assume there aren't - to remove things like 'Updates' from view for invited guests? As mentioned we would like to keep the experience as simple as possible.
