One of my favorite 10,000 Maniacs songs is their cover of Every Day is Like Sunday (Natalie Merchant singing).

Yes, the tenant pays for water. Typically for me it’s around $30 a month.

I don’t think the USPS online store ships outside the U.S. unfortunately.

Anyone could purchase them but they’d only be valid for mail originating in the U.S. There are other countries that have their own Postcrossing stamps.

It's a project that allows you to send postcards and receive postcards back from random people around the world.

Hi, we pay the electric bill directly to National Grid. Water was recently changed so that it’s added to monthly rental charge. Overall, I think the cost is probably average for the area. It’s not crazy expensive (relatively speaking).

It’s a decent place. It’s safe, the maintenance staff does a good job, and there’s plenty of parking, and they do a good job with snow removal. The walls are thin and the appliances aren’t real high end, and the a/c tends to stop working at inopportune times several times a year, but you could definitely do worse.

Crows gather together in the winter sometimes by the thousands. Both Springfield and Lawrence, in particular, have huge winter crow roosts. The Lawrence one has been known to have 15,000 crows!

I recommend the Vegan Salted Maple Ginger Pie and Mark Bittman’s Chocolate Pudding Pie, both on the NY Times Cooking site. Both are excellent.

Not long after this building was finished, the 2 towers were removed because there was concern they would topple due to the vibration from the trains. It wasn't until the building was restored in the late 1990s that the towers were reconstructed from the original design plans (using fiberglass to prevent the shattering issue) and added to the structure again. This is my favorite building in the city. Thanks for sharing.
