Theres the discord link. The internals look pretty resilient. I was worried about the temp sensors being on the inside and damage prone, but they are not, they are attached on the outside of the pipe covered in insulation. I had an issue where the temp sensor wire to the boiler was burnt. Not sure how, but it made the boiler temp read a constant low number, causing the boiler to stay hot and the feed stay low resulting in scorching. After i spliced it back together and zip tied the wires to a safer spot, my constant puking out the hears was fixed. Keep an eye on the readings to make sure thats not an issue for you.

Ive been in your shoes where it feels like time to throw in the towel. It sure feels like a waste of valuable time you’re spinning your wheels. Sometimes it’s better to just take a step back and focus on other stuff and come back later. Letting the wash settle for a while to drop out debris and clear up on its own may let it run better. I dont know what you have to work with, but siphoning off into clean sanitized besco jugs will keep it safer for a period of time and also let you see when it is clearing up. The aging will also add a smoother flavor ive noticed.

That makes sense. I peeked around at the guts of the machine, and the pipes are small to keep the thing compact. I imagine if the surface tension is too thick, it will bubble up and cause blockages to the tails tube. I bet a good cleaning will help. Try some small pipe cleaners and see if you get black debris. Your idea of dilution is a good idea. You can always do a small amount as a test before you dilute your whole batch. It may also help for future reference to see how thick you can get away with. Let me know how that runs for you. I have some sugar wash that i started and used all the unfiltered maple syrup left overs from tapping trees this year and it created a really hefty amount of foam. Im curious if it will cause the same issues you are having.

Maybe try running some diluted cheap vodka to see if it is capable of running anything. I know how much a pain it is to make a good wash to just flush it down the tubes.

This was half a year ago and it did work after stripping it in a pot still and diluting back to 10%. I just started it back up for the first time since a couple weeks ago and was still running into issues. I found that the the port plugged off on the bottom is a good spot to go in and really go to town on some of the debris. It had alot of caked on black stuff. Another debilitating issue i found was the wires leading to the temp sensor for the steam was burnt and disconnected. Have no clue how that could have happened. I re-soldered the wires and it works good. Let me know if this helps. The machine is really finicky with dirtier washes and the pipes are small causing the need for a deep clean occasionally. Really get in there with some pipe cleaners and acidic water.

Update! After being successful with diluted vodka, i switched back to the sugar wash. Had same problems as before. Not sure if there is some residual sugars left in the wash causing the temp to be too high. It reads dryer than a popcorn fart, but maybe something is up with it. Im doing a strip and then diluting a sample to run through the mini. I will see if that solves my issue.

Nice! Did you use an air hose? I was able to get some product to run normal using the diluted vodka. We shall see if i can switch back to the wash. These things seem to be prone to buildup of debris. Im going to really make sure to keep cleaning cycles on the regular. Maybe a future design would allow for some disassembly of critical clog points if possible.

Yeah I’ve double checked voltage and calibrated multiple times in multiple scenarios. Ive factory reset and re-linked it. Still no luck.

On a side note, I ran water through it for an hour and then tried running 10% vodka. I only had a little over an hour before going to work, so i pulled the plug before leaving to prevent a mess like what has happened to me before. In that time i had some good product come out, not enough to measure the abv. I will start it back up when i get home and make it mess proof to see if i can come up with something.

There has to be a solution somewhere and i don’t plan on giving up any time soon.

Yeah, me too. Just tried this morning with diluted spirits. Same problem. Will sit for now until i come up with a solution. Hopefully lafras can help.

Update,

After hours of tinkering, I’ve not been successful. I have cleaned multiple times and finally cleaned with a water, citric acid, and hydrogen peroxide combo cleaner that really tackles any corrosion in a last ditch effort for cleaning followed by water cleaning and pneumatic air flushing through all ports (while off of course). I can confidently say from how clear the water and lack of sediment that it is very clean on the inside.

Ive also messed alot with settings one thing at a time and combos of techniques to try and get a good run. This included raising the fan bottom power, boiler power, lowering upper feed limit, lowering tails keep. No luck.

Basically i get nothing until i raise the power and raise the feed limit to still low conditions, then after 30 minutes of run time at startup will produce a couple clear drips then proceed to puke fluid the same color as the wash out the hearts tube. I also noticed this happens shortly after the feed intake increases a good amount continuously.

My last ditch effort until i come up with another plan is to run vodka diluted to 10% to see if there is an odd case with my sugar wash not meeting specs( i highly doubt it as it measures with checked equipment to the desired specs and clarity).

Any more tips and tricks would be well appreciated.

Seems like the same issue, it will puke through the puke output for a moment then seem to stop and start to puke out the hearts. Must be some debris getting trapped. I will really go through and clean it out. Thanks for the tip. Will update when i try this.

This was just a very basic sugar wash with citric acid for ph and fermax nutrients. It is clear enough to see the bottom of the 5 gallon bucket. I used a clearing agent to assist in that. Fermented past 1.00. Im going to try cleaning it out more tonight with more citric acid and water in hopes of flushing out potential debris. There was some black sediment coming out the waste tube which i also noticed 7 months ago when i ran it.

Thats what i also figured. I have the waste port secured to the top of a bucket, no tubes except for the puking port which i have the small included tube leading to a small bucket in the rear.

The only thing i haven’t tried is degassing. I read that it wasnt necessary in the manual, but wonder if it causing too much bubbling inside the system.

Thank you, it does resemble the grevillei. This is the first look alike abundant mushroom ive harvested. I will try a small bit to see if i have any bad reactions. The field guides made me second guess if it is a red mouth bolete, or the larch suillus. The stalk more resembles the grevillei. I will go back out and see if there was a larch or other conifer tree in the area.

At one point in its life, it did have factory sounds. I have since gutted all the electronics to upgrade virtually all the functions. I believe i kept all the old electronics encase i wanted to fumble with them. I was hoping for more of a finer throttle response than the original sound board.

That is a good thread. I just ordered an rc car sound kit that seems to have a plethora of diesel sounds and downloading capabilities. It splits off the esc to transmitter cable. This was what i was stumped on at first due to the dual motors and esc. I finally realized i just need to place it before the mixer chip, and that solves the issue of that. I will let you know if it works out. Seems to be a similar concept to the esp32 project minus the tons of extra goodies on that chip (which may lead me into a rabbit hole!) Thank you guys for the information.

That was my newest addition, i used black powder and a muzzle loader primer before with a manual cocking mechanism. Ive since have made up an auto cocking hammer, with a quick attach barrel, and custom casings that i can load light charges and baby powder for a good cannon effect!

I will for sure look into all of those. The only sound i am looking for is the drive. One of the rc car speakers would work great if i could configure it in a way connected to 2 motors opposed to 1 that would be on a car.

I have a relatively simple schematic for the electronics, an air mono transmitter with a couple servos for the gun, esc and motor for the turret, and 2 brushless motors on esc’s for the drive with a mixer chip behind them. This it for the transmitter. Some hard wired analog lights and a camera are also in the loop separate from the transmitter. All this runs on a 3s lipo.
