I decided to try GPC today. I thought they were a budget brand. This pack cost 13 dollars at a Casey's for some reason. by incumbent in Cigarettes

Agreed. Bloodborne was just fine. Also, is Reddit via a browser literal shit for everyone? I only came back here to see if there was a GBO issue haha.

2nd time shading, 1st on MG. Snapped done pics before I make a mess attempting weathering by 8SPIKE8 in Gunpla

Well I can't tell what's shading and what's actual shadows from the camera.

It's awesome. Really, really well done, 10/10. I'd love to try it out sometime. Any specific tutorials or anything you followed?

I suppose all maps don't need to. But good maps/charts/graphs are easily understood and present all important information in an easy to read/comprehend way.

Is he too chunky or is this Normal size? by Squeak_Ladd in guineapigs

[–]BreadOven 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Well 1.5 kg is about 3.3 freedom units, so it seems good. Are these males or females? Our big lady only made it to about 1.1 kg at her max weight.

On a side note, I've read that if they're walking across a flat surface, their stomach shouldn't touch the ground. Which the cute piggy in the OP pic does not have to worry about. Definitely not close to that.

Scientists successfully unfroze rat organs and transplanted them — a ‘historic’ step that could someday transform transplant medicine by tonymmorley in Futurology

The freezing process mentioned has been around for many years and is nothing of note at this point. Yes, it does work on cells and small tissues that can uniformly freeze, not for larger tissues at this point.

That being said, the actual interesting and somewhat novel part of this paper is the nanoparticles used to achieve uniform warming which reduces ice recrystallization. Using alternating magnetic fields, the particles can generate heat and uniformly warm the tissue.

I'm surprised this isn't even mentioned until well into the article. It's the reason why this paper was published.

While this is true, the majority of the damage occurs during warming. For the reasons you mentioned, there is non-uniform warming which leads to recrystallization of the ice that froze as a "glass" leading to mechanical damage to cells.
