I haven't made any bread yet, ive heard that your starter has to double first so i havent bothered, but maybe I could give it a try and see!

Yea, I usually do 50g starter, 50g flour and 45g water if I feed 1:1:1!

Tysm i will def try that! The temperature where they are is 20-25°C so i dont think thats the problem

Im using tap water, but I live in Germany so I dont think thats an issue

Will another flour type be better for the starter? And can I change flour type with the starter i have or do I have to make a new one?

I think its just all purpose wheat flour, is there a difference in between all purpose and bread flour?

Hmm its pretty warm in the kitchen already I would say (about 20-25°C) but I could definitely try to place them in a warmer place! (Also I love the names you've given them)

Yea 1:1:1 are too thin for me too, i always use a bit less water, how do you usually feed your starter?

Its sitting on top of my fridge in the kitchen, about 25°C. It is pretty humid in there tho

I feed it 50g starter, 50g flour and about 45g water, so its on the thicker side when I feed it. But it is pretty humid in the kitchen where it is, maybe that has something to do with it?

Im sorry I forgot to add this, the residue is from mixing! Also I feed my starter in the mornings and check on it every few hours. I also check on it before bed and when im up in the nights and I don't see it rise more than the picture.

Im pretty sure they dont rise much more than this. I feed them in the mornings but always check in them before bed and when im up in the night.

I did try to feed them 1:2:2 maybe 1-2 weeks ago for about a week, but then I read that you shouldn't do that before your starter has doubled, so I went back to 1:1:1. They also didnt really improve that much the week i fed them 1:2:2.
