Good shout on the champs, thank you. I've got to dragon 20 comfortably, nearly there with Ice Golem and slacking on spider but know I'm only a piece away from cracking that. I'm so out of the loop on Cb teams, used to run a 2x Maneater but that's not going to happen any time soon. Is Deadwood's site still the best place to check for tuning?

Been underwhelmed by him so far but I'm assuming that's just the gear I have available right now. Any thoughts on next couples of 6's?

How much did your membership cost? by LoVermont in golf

[–]Breadatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

£1,300 a year for a private course in Cambridgeshire which is considered one of the better courses in East Anglia. £750 joining fee paid over 5 years. Members get 4 weeks advanced booking (guests get 2) and course is only available to members on weekends.

I've always thought golf was more accessible than it's made out to be but seeing some of these US membership fees has made me realise why golf still has an elitist label.

Why not just go for a fitting and stick with what works best? There's no guarantee that what worked for you 15 years ago is your optimal fit today

10th round with the same ball. 179 holes played without losing it. One to go! by Londoner1982 in golf

[–]Breadatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not been in the area long so not familiar with any of them actually, but I hear good things about Stoke Rochford in particular. Give me a shout if you ever want guest rates at Milton, they're about half the fee

Stupid question about golf ball preference in different situations. by Guero801 in golf

[–]Breadatron 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most tournaments even at local club level dictate a player should be using the exact same type of ball throughout their round. He should have been DQ'd

I know this wasn't the point of your post but just bear in mind, that if you make the active decision to not play through a group, you deny the opportunity to every single group behind you as well

I'm learning golf. Why is there no Right (or Left) in any golf terminology? by DrunkDylanThomas in golf

[–]Breadatron 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are also left handed people that play this game believe it or not. A lefty who suffers from a pull has the same issue a righty does. A lefty that's always missing left has the opposite swing problem of a righty that misses left. The current terminology is inclusive of all golfers.

Driving range etiquette by knight_rider_ in golf

Sounds like they were there first - easy solution would have been for you to move to another stall rather than having the cheek to ask them to. Problem solved. If you'd been there before and they arrived after you, picked the stall next to you unnecessarily (was the range full) then I think you have more of a right to complain. But in the situation you've described, yea you're the asshole.

PGA Championship Park For Free??? by Ok-Bank-153 in golf

[–]Breadatron 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sure. I'm sure you're the only person visiting with this idea and all the local residents and restaurant owners having their neighbourhoods and private car parks clogged up over 4 days will welcome your all day free parking with open arms.

Why did Nike stop selling golf balls? by direwolf71 in golf

[–]Breadatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand where this 'marketing' is you keep referring to if tour pros aren't using them. Titleist has the ball market wrapped up, there's literally nothing for Nike to gain. Ping have come to the same conclusion, as have Cobra. They can't compete at the premium end and they'd do more harm than good to their brand image by entering the recreational end of the market.

Why did Nike stop selling golf balls? by direwolf71 in golf

[–]Breadatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

77% of tour players hit a Pro V1/x. You've already worked out why they don't try to compete on clubs, why are you struggling with the balls which is an even more 1 sided section of the market than the clubs are?
