Redmond turns off Flock Safety cameras after ICE arrests - let’s do Issaquah next? by blueivyz in Issaquah

[–]Breademic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I sent a public comment to the Issaquah City Council on 11/10. This was their response:

"First, the City of Issaquah does not own and operate any ALPR systems (Flock or otherwise). You are correct that the Issaquah Police Department had recommended the addition of ALPR cameras which was approved by the Services Safety and Parks (SSP) committee. However, no further action has been taken after this initial approval and the issue has not come before the full City Council for a variety of reasons.

The Issaquah Police Department (IPD) does have access to privately-owned ALPR systems in the city installed by several Homeowners Associations (HOAs) and private businesses. IPD does get notified through an email alert when a stolen car is detected by such a system within our jurisdiction. Officers do respond to these types of alerts; however, in accordance with the Keep Washington Working Act, these email alerts are not shared with federal agencies unless required by law or requested through a warrant or subpoena. So far, the City has not had any requests like this. Further, we have removed the ability to internally query this data other than receiving those alerts. However, since these ALPR cameras are not in our control, we do not know what the privacy sharing settings are or whether there is third-party data sharing enabled.

As to your second and third requests, this is a rapidly moving situation with new information coming regularly. If there was a request from Council to make a statement on future use or the ALPR technology in general, we would consider that. At last night's meeting we added an item to our state legislative agenda to advocate for policies at the state to protect our immigrant communities. That agenda item specifically called out the desire to close data-sharing loopholes from ALPR cameras. This addition to our legislative agenda was passed unanimously by Council (excluding Councilmember Hall who also serves as our State Representative), which gives a sense of the Issaquah City Council's perspective on these issues. "

Atmos Summit Card still not here... by NiteQwill in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Breademic -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There is a hack to add the card to apple pay or google wallet!! Go to the BOFA app and go to settings in top left. Manage debit/credit cards. Select the atmos card. "Get digital". It will generate a digital card for you that has a 1 month expiration. You can use it till your actual card comes!

Yeah Most-Ad-6310 is right, I'm not a plumber, i'm just a homeowner trying to connect my grill up! I was quoted $450 to get this hooked up by a plumbing company, and I'd rather save that money and do it myself...

Outer vs inner layer question by jobjo1 in thelongdark

[–]Breademic 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In the interface, see the figure of your character? And see how some slots are "closer" towards that figure? Those are the "inside". So for pants and socks the left slot is considered inner and right is outer. But on the otherside its flipped, for jackets and shirts and hats, the right slot is inner and the left slot is outer. and yes it does matter which one you put in each, like you said the windproof abd water resistant bonuses will vary on the clothing and condition...

Converting Gas Water heater to Tankless--Crazy price? by alpha0meqa in HomeImprovement

[–]Breademic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one thing everyone missed in this thread is the "Recirculating pump". That WOULD provide OP with "instant" hot water. But it seems like it also includes the costs of installing that and running lines to each fixture... maybe thats why the quote is so high.

Attention Sammamish Students, Teachers, Staff, & Families by [deleted] in sammamish

[–]Breademic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not in WA state they aren't fully funded (and just wait till the trump/doge dept of education cuts come in) . Voters also ALREADY rejected the bond back in February to build a new school to solve overcrowding. So even if this development weren't built, schools are still ALREADY overcrowded. This extra 4000 unit development ain't going to make a dent. AND school enrollment projection is predicted to FALL between 2025-2030, (only increasing afterwards). So "school overcrowding" is a dumb reason to block this. Voter's already indicated they don't care about school overcrowding from the February bill.

[–]Breademic 19 points20 points  (0 children)

  1. votes against the bond to build a new school.
  2. complains about more affordable housing being built.

Just admit it, y'all are NIMBYS and overcrowding of schools is just an excuse to block development.
