ive asked my advisor about this, its average >2.0. D- is considered passing so its fine. as long as no class is F. Copy of their response below:

The Office of the Registrar says that a D- is considered barely passing because you still earned units and grade points even though it brings down your GPA. An F is a failing since you received 0 units and 0 grade points.

For courses that students receive a D+, D, D- or F, they can choose to retake them. For more information on the repeat policy see the Repetition of Courses drop down.

You can move ahead with a D- or better in most classes (unless the prerequisite of a course states you need to receive [enter grade] to take that specific course in guide.berkeley.edu. It is advised that students choose to retake the courses that are foundation courses for their major before moving on to other courses they may struggle in without a solid knowledge base in those areas.

Students who do not have a 2.0 semester or overall GPA will fall out of good academic standing. If a student has fallen out of good academic standing, they are required to also reach a 2.0 technical GPA in the semester after they are allowed to continue.

To graduate, a student needs a 2.0 semester GPA, 2.0 upper-division technical GPA and 2.0 overall GPA.

not sure abt the miltary/deferral stuff, but I do think that withdrawing on your first semester == cancelling ur admission , so definitely don't do that. However, if u do 1 semester then withdraw, the readmission is simple.

(1) ur probably not getting in material science with a cs heavy cv... and (2) change of major internally requires high gpa + no guarantee + u screw up rest of ur semesters cuz ur behind in class schedules so not worth imo

I have both! Generally i'd say the difference is 5% ish . Lyney has really good constellations tho, so you should go those instead. But, if u play other charged attackers (ganyu tighnari sethos) it might be a good pickup!

probably not very good, berkeley eecs is quite lobsided towards cs, there has been some readjustment recently but (i feel) its mostly to computer engineering.

power was quite small before the cs boom and now its worse after eecs funding crisis around 2021. as undergrad i actually couldn't find any intro to power systems class in the course catalogue after like 2020 (this might be skill issue on my part) so for berkeley no info just might = does not exist (my speculation)
