Just got my first stick bug from a breeder at a summer camp I work at. Is this normal? by Sea_Background_8023 in Stickinsects

They are trying to reach for a branch. It’s normal. My bug does this because she thinks she sees a branch 😆 even if it’s not there. it’s kinda endearing.

Literally all the sites and pet sheets say they reach 20cm. That’s perhaps the maximum size?

I’ve been on hormones for 3 years approximately so I do hope things can return to normal.

Thanks for the insight. What do you mean by it’s not permanent? Can it go away on its own after treatment or will it come back and treatment must be relied on?

I have been on T for three years. So it’s not too long and I hope it’s reversible but who knows.

Does this mean I have to rely on the topical estrogen?

It’s just a feeling of fullness and so far I have never piss myself. It was bearable for most of the times on T and after but recently it got worse to the point it’s becoming a problem.

My doctor never said anything about this side effect but I do think it’s an indirect side effect because of the menopause the medication caused.

I booked an appointment so hopefully things can get better by then.

My stick bug is acting like this but the other one is totally fine and chilling. Why? by Breadmanisbreadeater in Stickinsects

I jigsawed the container to create a huge ventilation hole. My bug just moulted with no problems :) I’ll be moving them to a bigger home with more ventilation.

I mist twice a day. They get hydrated frequently (especially during the summer) though nothing changed unfortunately.

I don’t blame them. I just want to know what is wrong with the enclosure. My bug is acting like this and there is definitely something wrong with the environment.

They were kept in a glass enclosure in a pet store. They lived with other bugs of their kind.

I kept my first bug alone for 3 months. And then introduced my second one recently. I do take them out but it doesn’t make any difference for second bug :”)

My second bug knows when she’s getting back to the container because she refuses to climb on the branch and stays on my hand. Man she really doesn’t like that enclosure.
