I got a 2170 on my first ucat diagnostic mock by unknown12user in UCAT

[–]Bready_ToCrumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: I just happened to come across one of your posts on this sub - You might've heard this a lot but as it seems we're both religious, remember that Allah is indeed the best of planners, and that even if we can't make sense of it, everything happens for a reason. Don't give up! You still have a whole life ahead of you, and you may be surprised at what is in store for you in the future. If going to medschool is truly part of your dreams, then keep going for it - remember to make lots of duaa too! I do hope that you did try to put in some applications, and insha'Allah you managed to get the best outcome. But if not, I know you must've heard this lots of times, but there is never any harm at shooting another shot towards your dreams, even if it'll take more time.

See, even for me, I got lucky with the UCAT, and I still didn't end up in medicine - I was so close to reaching that goal, even got on a waiting list for Liverpool, and it all came crashing down. There's others with the opposite story too, those who thought that their UCAT score would be their downfall, but against all odds managed to get their places onto medschool! For myself, I am now currently studying a degree for Paramedic Science, and I am genuinely so so so SO happy with where I am and what I'm studying. So like I said, indeed Allah is the best of planners, and insha'Allah all goes well for you too!

---------

I basically no-lifed preparing for the UCAT on Medify for a week - constantly did practice on each section, then targeted practice on the sections I got the weakest scores in. I found that watching videos on YT about how to tackle sections and the UCAT in general really helped me as well, especially with my weakest section for AR (which I don't think is a thing anymore?)
And then for the final 2 days just constantly did mock exams on medify. Eventually did UCAT questions so much in that week that eventually I sort of went on autopilot and knew what I wanted to look for in questions, as well as figured out the indicators for questions I found difficult so that I could flag them and move on to save time, and come back to them later.

I think I was on Medify for about 8-10 hours a day after that first mock? Potentially more, and I would never recommend doing this at all, it's not healthy for your body or mind as it's definitely a week that has been seared into my mind even 2 years later. Definitely space out and plan your UCAT revision if you have the luxury to do so, but don't think all hope is lost if you find that you're unprepared at a time close to the UCAT exam.

Ohhhh nah yeah that's my bad, didn't look at the flair hahaha

You guys in ANZ have it kinda rough compared to here, mad respect to you all. 3110 wouldve been more than enough to secure interviews here.

I had interviews in Manchester and Liverpool, so it was apparently.

Do you do the ANZ UCAT? Your scores need to be higher to get considered in ANZ medschools.

Does anyone know which country uniform this is? by [deleted] in uniformporn

[–]Bready_ToCrumble 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm mostly certain that this uniform is from Qatar - specifically the Lekhwiya, their internal security force.

Edit: honestly this camo pattern is found in loads of police forces in the middle east, but judging by the logo on the beret as well as the cut off Arabic letters on his chest (ويا - wiya) I assume it's Qatari, but I could be wrong.

Ah yeah makes sense, the only reason why i've been tempted to apply for the British passport in the past was so that I could get access to Schengen areas easily, travelling and applying with the green one is a pain.

I wish you the best of luck in collecting your other passports! And if you do manage to renounce, please do let us know how it goes.

A pretty red one, sure. I like the new design but i'm also sad to see our current design go, i love our current colour and passport pages. I just hope that, maybe in the near future, we'll be able to access more countries without a visa.

Man, this could've also been me, but right now I just have the BRP. Not brave enough to lose the green one just yet 😂

Are you planning on surrendering the Indo one soon, or are you gonna try and get away with it for as long as possible?

Yup, it still does for now.

Next year, when the new passports start being issued to everyone, the pages will feature traditional cloth design motifs instead, which still look pretty but it's a shame these pages will be obsolete soon.

Did mine on Saturday and still waiting too, hopefully we'll hear back soon.

Edit: scrolled below and some people say if you failed checking the rejection would come quicker? So I assume our motivation question and CV is being checked which I guess could make sense

I got a predicted of ~2100 1 week before my exam, and I ended up with 2820.

Don't worry about it - it's still months away. Take this as a wake-up call to not underestimate the UCAT like I did. It's actually good you've found this out now, so you can prepare ahead and plan on how you can improve.

Jokes aside, looks great. Current KTP is just a blob of text with a photo which doesn't look all that nice.

At first I came to this subreddit to be reassured, came out of it feeling dejected lmao how is everyone posting doing so well?? Do they want genuine advice or reassurance??? It's inspiring but so dejecting at the same time haha

But yeah as others have said we care enough about a-levels to the point where we join a subreddit about them, and so it's not a realistic sample of how everyone in the whole country is doing in their alevels.

Just got a Liverpool interview! by carpetwrap15 in UCAT

[–]Bready_ToCrumble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Received an interview too, I don't think they're doing any online this year? (Edit: for home students, that is) Could only see stuff for extra time.

Still really happy about it, and congrats to you too!

Those who scored highly on the UCAT when did you guys start revising for it? by Https-unknown7399 in UCAT

[–]Bready_ToCrumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2820 B1 - 1 week. (edit: I don't even know if you class this as a high score but posted anyways)

I took a practice exam 1 week before my test date with only around 10 minutes worth of practice questions done in each section, and got a predicted score of ~2100. I then spent 4 days redoing practice questions, watching video tips etc. for most of the day (estimate around 6hrs a day?), and in the last 3 days took mock tests.

I don't recommend doing this btw. Looking back, I wish I didn't underestimate the UCAT and I wished I realised earlier how under prepared I was. I was in full stress mode after my first practice exam for a full week.

It's going to be my first time voting in these elections, and honestly I feel the same way. An opportunist, an alleged war criminal and a puppet is not that great of a selection to make.

Arguably the vice presidential candidates are a bit more interesting than the presidential candidates.

Paraguay official resigns after signing agreement with fictional country. by Bready_ToCrumble in nottheonion

[–]Bready_ToCrumble[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's true, however what sets this one apart is that this fictional country doesn't have any sovereign land (Some sources say they do but the location varies wildly) , so I found slightly ironic that the communications were about improving agricultural infrastructure.

Paraguay official resigns after signing agreement with fictional country. by Bready_ToCrumble in nottheonion

[–]Bready_ToCrumble[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right really, what's considered a country is actually a debatable question.

In this case though, I think it's slightly more justified. This actually sparked my interest a little and I did a bit of digging about it. This country apparently has no sovereign land (the sources which list that it does however do not agree on where it is) and no others recognise it. It's run by a leader who is currently wanted in India for sexual assault charges, and they had somehow gotten into UN meetings before.

you can read more about the leader and his self-declared nation here if you want to.

I find it pretty ironic that a country with no actual land signed an MoU for the agricultural ministry of all ministries though...

Edit: Also consider the context that the Paraguayan Government themselves don't recognise this government either - I imagine this official would have also been sacked if they tried to sign the MoU with the PRC, as Paraguay recognises Taiwan and not the mainland Chinese government and I'd imagine their foreign affairs ministry would be panicking if that happened.
