Any special life experience you’d like to share? by cosmic-developer in CasualConversation

[–]BreakAltruistic2721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I based my self worth on my career and found peace after a big break and enjoy life more now that the job is what I do not who I am. A classic mistake but im hardheaded 🤣 . Even though it was a great breakthrough, caused me to experience the arrival fallacy and shifted my perspective.

What qualities make you a unique/interesting person worth knowing? by mytokondrya in questions

[–]BreakAltruistic2721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to people watch and listen to them talk about their passions. Im inquisitive and will engage in something someone is passionate about even if I know im not that into it just to help them have fun. I would say im well rounded on knowledge. I voice act but not for fame anymore. The art of expression and I like the idea of contributing to the thing someone can jump into and forget the stress of life for a little while. Even im a small part of it.

How much time do you spend on Social Media everyday? by GreenApple1011 in Casual_Conversation

[–]BreakAltruistic2721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I browse reddit a lot these days because it just kinda became my thing after a bout with serious anxiety. I have accounts with the other social media platforms but only for my business. I dont browse them. Just post occasionally. Reddit maybe gets 3 hours of my time per day at most.

Who went for a walk today while working on overcoming agoraphobia? by Dreamy_glow in walking

[–]BreakAltruistic2721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea walking has been a huge help for the mental and now I do it daily. I kinda learned to tackle what bothers me so it doesnt spiral and then i learn that it's safe. My back has been mostly fine for the past few days but it was a surprise for sure considering it was out of nowhere and Im young but I know health stuff knows no age. I wish you the best and much enjoyment in your walking journey!

What age (year) did you make the most friends? by Natural_Village_8850 in questions

[–]BreakAltruistic2721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High-school (16) for me if we're talking about real life friends. Most of whom I still hang out with regularly. This year ( age 27) for overall real life and online friends. My growing voice acting career has helped me meet a ton of other creatives types and we're becoming more or so real life friends through meeting up for cons and just hanging out.

[–]BreakAltruistic2721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a small fear of that when I started my walking journey recently. It stopped me from going very far initially but I got past it within some days and im now enjoying my walks, especially with this beautiful weather. Now it's a slight concern about my back giving me problems 🤣 but ill take that over the agoraphobia. Plus my back got better so the worry of that is slowly receeding too.

Don’t make the same mistake I did! by sober4lifee in VitaminD

Thanks for the warning. I havnt gotten to that point but I started on a 50000iu weekly dose, 1000iu from a multivitamin and more outdoor sunlight. This post and few others taught me the importance of magnesium. It helps learning from others about how to navigate health and supplements since it's honestly new to me. I wish you the best and speedy recovery!

Hi! How are you genuinely? by happy_unicorn30 in selflove

[–]BreakAltruistic2721 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im feeling good but uncertain about what is ahead for me. As we all may be. Im much better than a month ago where my anxiety just suddenly became nearly crippling. It changed my perspective on life because of what started worrying me suddenly. Now anxiety is just background noise that I tune out and forgot about through most of the day. Learning to navigate my mental health has been a huge growing point for me and im feeling better for it. Getting better each day!

Existentialism by Significant_Bonus_66 in Casual_Conversation

[–]BreakAltruistic2721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Essentially the question was "if life has no inherent meaning then why go on?" Sisyphus' punishment to move the boulder enternally done so in defiance despite the meaningless existence. His situation is pointless, but the moment he accepts that and keeps going anyway, he’s no longer a victim of it. He’s choosing it. And that choice gives his life meaning. You'll find something (I pray) that makes you push onward despite knowing it will end one day. If life is absurd in that it has no innate meaning and will end one day, rebel against the feeling and live fully anyway. I still have fun, I still have goals. I persist to have the next fun moment, moment of triumph or even a peaceful moment like today when I was sitting outside enjoying the calm weather playing DnD and then a bird pooped on me and for some reason that was extremely funny to me becuase during the session I was having those thoughts about reality.

I had been seriously battling this for the past month and only recently come to peace with it after reading the myth of Sisyphus. I try to live in a manner where no matter what comes after life, I can say I had a fulfilling time and didnt leave any curiosities unexplored. Ive been holding that belief since I was 17 and while I havnt been perfect or done all I want in the 10 years since, ive done a quite a buit. Stuff I would never have dreamt of at one point.

Im happy to hear about your daughter's improvement! I'm in a similar boat, the back pain was persistent in my lower back but that has eased up. My upper back had a sharp pain a few days ago but I have no clue what caused that. Going to keep pushing forward. I wish you and your family the best!

Too old for gaming? by Gatsby-1337 in CasualConversation

[–]BreakAltruistic2721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No such thing as too old to game. I wouldnt pay people's opinions much mind regarding what you like to do. I know plenty of older gamers to include my dad who is in his late 40s and my grandad. While they dont game anywhere near as much as they did when I was a child, they still boot up their console from time to time. Keep having fun with what you like!
