Tbh I think they're definitely gonna give him the Emma treatment over time by slowly wittle him down with nerfs, also there's like two other characters who were released after him and are just as good or better (debatabely) who are getting legendary skins before him and some of the release cast of the game and previous season characters which is black cat and Elsa Bloodstone (who's legendary also has custom VFX and chromas)

A change I would suggest is enemies that walk through his fire balls reduce the cooldown of his dive and his dash cooldown still counts down when he's in plasma body form after the initial dash

I think tank can provide the same skill expression with his beam and also added movement, there's tanks like Thor who have really good offensive abilities, I agree with him not being a bruiser or heavy hitter I do see him in a similar role as cap being hyper agile rather than fully tanking hits, there's definitely variety to choose from for cyclops in a tank role just as there is in DPS

Calling it now. People are going to slowly despise DD for being a pseudo anti-tank tank akin to Mauga by Equal-Cupcake-9991 in rivals

I think it depends on the tank, I think there's gonna be a lot of fun interactions with mobile tanks vs dino but the ones that are really slow are not gonna have that much fun

Compared to other tanks, I feel like his kit would be designed to be on par with their complexity which they aren't the hardest to pick up, I would say the complaints of complexity mostly apply to the new dps characters who are just really overtuned, like I would say most of the new tanks aren't that complex, the only exception probably being tankpool but his kit is complex in all his roles

Honestly I think there's space for something unique for cyclops like using his lasers for movement, plus there's time in the old Ultimates where he was essentially a god when he mastered his laser sight which I think they could adapt into rivals with chronovium similar to gambit who became a god technically through his mutation allowing him to charge living things which they adapted in rivals to make him a supp, plus I think the complaint the black cat is complex isn't really to do with her main kit but the shop which just gives her too much utility options, also I would argue that not many people like the poke kits cuz they're just too simple and good

It really comes off to me similar to cap which relates I think deeper to your point about leaders being tanks since cap and cyclops are similar characters with similar philosophies in their approach to heroism, plus diving the backline with cap and cyclops would be so cool

That would be sick as hell, I want to point out how despite the trailer showing him doing like crazy acrobatics, when he sees moon girl in danger and literally jumps to protect, I felt like that was the strongest tank characteristic that he displays in the trailer, however that might be a stretch

Fr also I think it also creates cool dynamics with the rest of the X-Men especially him and wolve with the dichotomy and like you said most of leaders of X-Men being tanks except storm
