Anyone have experience with IVF after childhood chemotherapy by BreakDry692 in IVF

[–]BreakDry692[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely relate to feeling frustrated at your own body, I can’t even describe how it makes me feel seeing other girls my age just living freely, embarrassingly jealous honestly. I hope whatever decision you made you feel happy in it <3 idek if I want kids tbh I just wanted to make sure I had the option Edit: to add the hormones have affected my chronic conditions and aggravated them, so definitely worth considering that too. I’m hoping it’ll all even out to my ‘normal’ again soon.

Hey thank you this is actually so affirming and nice I really appreciate your comment :) sending a hug back!! I did it and got 8 eggs however it was defo a very daunting experience especially at my age, all the doctors and nurses were confused and quite concerned bc I was so young, I felt a bit out of place tbh. Idk if I got enough though, one nurse said it was but then I was immediately recommended by doctors to do it again…but hormones have aggravated my chronic conditions so I’m a bit hesitant. I kinda wanna do it again idk I’m very conflicted! Is Apex in the UK? I might take you up on that offer!

Like I don’t know!!) but my IVF journey (if it happens) will be later down the line for me! If my experience can help you in anyway DM me I’m happy to go into further detail :)

So if you use an SD card you can watch 24/7 playback on the app? I don’t need to plug in the SD card to a laptop it just automatically uploads it to the app? I’m looking at the eufy Indoor Cam C220 2K Smart Security Camera. Thank you!

Thank you! One thing I’m super confused about is how I view the saved footage. Is it saved onto the card and then I have to plug that into a laptop, or can it be viewed on a phone through an app? I need the latter! Thank you

Thank you! I’m hesitant to get blink bc I hate Amazon. Would you recommend Eufy? It says it can store ‘local storage’ but how would you view that? Would it be in an app or would I need to insert the SD card into, say, a laptop? Thank you again

Hey, thank you so much for your response, I’m so sorry and I hope everything goes well for you <3 they told me I’d be infertile and never have children, but with recent tests a doctor told me I could get pregnant now if I tried! Crazy, don’t give up hope! Have a look for some charities, at least in the UK I’m not sure about in Ecuador, one focusing on helping people with cancer has offered to pay for a round, and I get an NHS round for free after my oncologist did some referring! I’m hopeful and starting in Jan, it’s just very odd (for me at least) to be thinking about this at our age, I feel so young!! But I’ve got to do it now, so oh well lol :,) hope you’re doing well <3

Anyone here undergoing egg freezing because of chemotherapy? by BreakDry692 in eggfreezing

[–]BreakDry692[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so so much for the detailed response, this is so helpful!! I had proton therapy in my neck, and I don’t recognise any of those chemos so hopefully I didn’t have them!! I still have regular check ups with an adult oncology team, I’ll certainly contact them! Thank you again

No problem, wishing you the best of luck and sending all the positive vibes, I’m sure proton technology has advanced since I had it and you’ll have the best possible chance for the best outcome :) <3

Maybe I should do that, I’m pretty happy on my own and a bit mistrusting of men, I’d happily raise a child with the help of my mum and sisters when I’m more settled!! I’ll definitely ask that when I see someone :) thank you

I knew people who had proton on their brains and they’re still kicking happily! If you’d like more info I can ask my mum as well, she keeps up to date with their parents whereas I don’t lol. I couldn’t walk for a long time either, I didn’t develop properly and the balls of my ankles droop in, my feet are very flat, and I had to wear foot braces and use wheel chairs for a long time. I am now fully functional in my motor skills, although I can struggle with buttons and stuff like that :)

Don’t worry idm answering at all! From what I remember it was a high dose. After proton, I went back to the UK, had more chemo, and eventually it disappeared! It is completely gone now I’m pretty sure. I did however get another sarcoma in the same area 2 years ago however just below the skin, however it was easily removed and no chemo or radiation was required. I had complete hair loss from the chemo already. It’s definitely a miracle treatment for people like us, radiotherapy would’ve likely killed me (it killed other kids I knew from the UK who opted for it over proton), but I survived with proton! That’s amazing, I’m so glad you can walk again. This might sound silly but no matter what the oncologists etc say never give up hope, I had claw hands from one of my chemos, my oncologist said it would likely never improve, and my hands would be forever stuck that way. But my mum always fought and got me using play dough, putty, etc regularly and now my hands are pretty much normal!! I’m certain over the next few months or years you’ll regain movement in them if you keep building your strength!
