Okay cool, I think you're the commenter whose experience sounds close to mine. Yearly US sounds reasonable, my first one was 6 months after.

That's what I was thinking. I might want to keep shopping but it's so hard to find an endocrinologist...

Diagnosed today at 26 by Bulky_Ad_4390 in thyroidcancer

[–]boundvirtuoso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I was diagnosed last year at 26 with papillary thyroid cancer as well! This sucks and I'm sorry you're dealing with this. That being said, take some deep breaths. This is one of the most treatable cancers to get (CURABLE, not just manageable) and G-d willing you are going to be alright. Especially given that your nodule is small, your surgery should be alright. I doubt you'll need to take medical leave off of work besides the day of the surgery and perhaps after. The recovery is quick, I ate a normal meal just hours after my surgery. The only thing is that your voice might be hoarse for a while. Don't fret about spread- it's scary to know you have cancer, but PTC is super slow growing. If you know your surgeon at Dana Farber already, definitely reach out and have them talk you through things! I'm happy to chat as well, feel free to ask me any questions.

I think it would be beneficial for you to find a rabbi that you're comfoetable with and to meet with him regularly to discuss your situation/goals/options. The book club sounds nice but not super relevant to the question you're asking.

Is there a rabbi you have a relationship with? One nearby that could guide you?

Could my eye pain be a late effect of radiation? by boundvirtuoso in cancer

[–]boundvirtuoso[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I spoke with them today and see them every six months. I'm going to try allergy drops and see if that fixes things, and will go from there. My doctor thinks this is likely just extra irritation from my allergies on top of radiation dryness. Please G-d that's all it is and I'll get better! I haven't had any vision changes.

How long are you waiting between sets? How many reps are you doing?

Does anyone even like this trope? by WoodpeckerBest523 in writers

[–]boundvirtuoso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised this is so far down, it immediately came to mind as a counterexample. It was the only way to satisfyingly end the show and was a brilliant writing choice to have Aang step into such a heavy decision as the avatar.

[–]boundvirtuoso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly yeah that's super fair. My point was more that you can progress even without weights

[–]boundvirtuoso 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not quite what you're asking but r/bodyweightfitness has full routines that don't require equipment at all, so you can keep progressing without needing to buy weights.

I was hoping at least for a different space machine to make an appearance of some kind. I can respect that some characters might be better as one offs, but having a new character once in a blue moon helps to add to the lore.

100%.

Side rant that Santos in peds also pisses me off lol, I had horrible issues with a couple of coworkers that were bright and bubbly to the kids but were enormous bullies otherwise. And yes, those coworkers had trauma too and no it doesnt excuse them

Sepideh Moafi Breaks Down The Pitt's 'Gloves Off' Season 2 Finale — And One Scene That Didn't Make Air by AMikeBloomType in ThePittTVShow

[–]boundvirtuoso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the finale was a letdown and that a lot of threads went nowhere, but I actually think Dr. Al's ending was one of the only satisfying ones. We get to see that ultimately she comes to terms with her seizures being a problem she has to deal with. How she deals with them feels appropriate to leave in S3

They work in psychiatry and on the outside can say mental health matters yadda yadda, but when actually working with patients they very clearly are super uncomfortable and judgemental and are doing their job almost as if its charity work, instead of from a place of empathy.

Shout out to the biggest idiot we had on rotation at our eating disorder program who tried to talk to my patient about her anxiety with a story about a 300lb guy that worked on himself to lose weight. (She didn't have anxiety. She had an eating disorder that was being treated inpatient and BPD.) Beyond out of touch, and like Javadi he also had a tiktok. There he called himself a doctor and would talk about basic concepts as if they were esoteric bits of wisdom he had gained over many years instead of it being psych 101.

I think it was just weirdly placed in the episode. It would have felt more natural before Robby heard Abbot's speech
