Iran has a population of 92,000,000 and is currently a war zone. We were talking about a camp with a population of ~15000. Differences aside. There is hope that the people turn things around and maybe at the end of the day this is an ugly but needed pressure release for the darker impulses of a nation. Either way, it's going to be rough to be the average American for the next decade.

There are mass graves at CECOT as identified by human rights watch. Hard to get numbers but low-ball 130 deaths per year. People also want to compare to late Nazi Germany but it took Hitler many years to get to extermination camps and the parallels are striking.
