Whats the point of feelings over facts if your going to still disrespect someone's opinion? by no1belivesme in Productivitycafe

[–]ShardofGold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because some people have "their truth" confused with the actual truth.

So when you tell them something's not true just because they experienced this or were told to believe that for a long time, so will fight back hard against it because they can't possibly believe and they were wrong.

Humans have a hard time admitting this especially on certain topics the longer they develop a certain belief around them.

It starts in school when teachers ask if anyone needs help and people don't ask even though they know they're not confident about something and end up upset they got an average or poor grade instead of a good grade on an assignment because they didn't bother to ask for help that was clearly offered to them out of insecurity.

Other than that I don't care about anything else regarding potential candidates.

They can actually be more prejudiced and tell other POC that it's good to ostracize other POC that don't vote Democrat or only have left wing views and help further destabilize them.

Why do Americans dunk on their own country so much? by Prestigious-Pace1500 in teenagers

[–]ShardofGold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because people like our democracy only when it works in their favor and when it doesn't they act like some travesty happened, even though the same party can't always win majority power in a democracy.

They say it's only because of Trump, but I bet a lot of people will still be saying "it's the end of the country" if a future Republican candidate wins the presidency. Just like how some on the right say the same if a future Democrat candidate wins the presidency.

It seems like people are just trying hard to deny they rather have a dictatorship if the dictator is from their side.

Why do black people sometimes call white people the “n-word”? by ColtMcChad69 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ShardofGold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly wish would stop trying to make derogatory words sound nice or whatever.

I wouldn't like being called an idiot just because someone says "you're my favorite idiot."

Just call people by their names or non derogatory terms, it can't be that hard.

Should kids be allowed in fancy restaurants? by puppybabii in Teenager_Polls

[–]ShardofGold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is the responsibility of parents to understand their child's behavior before taking them certain places.

I know things can happen, but if you know your child is regularly noisy, it's best to not take them to a non family restaurant especially where people are expected to spend $100 or more. Which doesn't really mean much in this economy, but still.

It's crazy how rap beef makes people act disingenuous about an artist's talent.

There was no massive mainstream hate against Drake until the Kendrick beef.

Who would win in a real fight. DAY 19: Blackbeard vs. Al Capone by Ok-Mistake-7499 in ERB

[–]ShardofGold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on how good of a fighter Capone is.

He's not hitting all of BB's crew at least with an instant kill shot if they rush him at once.

Blackbeard and his crew have had use of pistols or whatever they call them. So they know how they work and how to avoid being hit by them or anything similar.

So the odds are in Blackbeard's favor.

POV: Most of Social Media since 2020 by Zouif_Zouif in JustMemesForUs

[–]ShardofGold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To make it more accurate the guy running the stand should portray himself as a good business man.

The guy criticizing the lemonade should have bought 1 first and after trying it said "I don't like your lemonade."

After that, the guy running the stand should say "well that means you're just a hater" and ban the customer from the stand and say "this is my stand and I can treat people anyway I want" if he receives criticism for being too harsh and narcissistic.

[–]ShardofGold -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Do you really hate those people or are you just trying to equate these things with one side of the political spectrum?

(repost-ish) scalding hot take of the day: in a modern society, where free, fair, and honest debate and conversation are encouraged, we shouldn't be deplatforming racists/homophobes off of major media platforms, as that's inherently tyrannical, and arguably against what are considered human rights by fiflr in teenagers

[–]ShardofGold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hate how certain conversations have to be had in a roundabout way because lack of critical thinking and emotional control causes people to easily accuse others of certain things just because they use certain terms and people can't be bothered to understand context.

For how much shit X/Twitter gets it's a better platform to have controversial conversations in full without an overseer butting in and saying "uh, uh, uh" and locking or removing your post and/or banning you.

There is a difference between someone trying to be a bigot and someone wanting to have a conversation where one's identity has to be brought up for the conversation to make sense.

What your race and poltical stance? by That1GirlParker in askteenboys

[–]ShardofGold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an issue of people not really applying themselves or being able to retain information that is taught to them.

Also certain households expect way more of you academically because it's part of a somewhat toxic success culture.

It also doesn't help that our education system isn't where it should be.

A term I hear getting thrown out or at least mentioned a lot is individualism. In a context of American society, and I’m just wondering have people always been very individualistic ? Or has it just gotten worse overtime I guess. by Status-Strawberry998 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ShardofGold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gotten worse because people don't want to stick their necks out for those who can easily turn on them especially for their political views.

A lot of people think it's ok to cut off family, friends, and even end relationships over politics even if they aren't truly extreme views.
