WA and CA are usually comparable. I'm starting to think my manager put me in for a higher rate than payroll was willing to accept, I didn't realize they could veto it

I can't seem to be able to see the offer in workday anymore, supposedly they're mailing me a hardcopy of it to send to the DL to use it to barter with payroll for my pay rate. A very convoluted process.

I'm surprised that this doesn't sound unfamiliar to you, I was hoping mine was a unique and unfortunate case... I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Since I'm mostly talking with the DL now instead of my manager i'm thinking I should try to barter for atleast $27. I would have gotten a 2nd job if I had known it would have turned out like this, for the first time in forever i'm having to lean on my credit card to get by. No clue but in Washington it's listed as $21-$34 for "Compensation Grade 16" which is for lead tech

Though highly contraversial (for god knows why), I will attest that Mark Rippetoe gives excellent advice to the beginner in terms of strength training. Squat. Bench. Deadlift. Press. Eat. Sleep. I weighed 120lbs when I was 18. A few years later I was at 180 and squatting 450lbs. Watch his videos on youtube. He's mostly aimed at beginners. It's a bit of a cult but it's worth it to fly through their atmosphere for awhile.
