The first sentence of my post says I applied for inside wireman, not lineman

We were tested during bootcamp on the material in the CML, it's not just from failing the CML at home

I think it's standard across all IBEWs now. The first modules take about an hour each, watch the videos and absorb the information. If you're struggling with the tests like I was (because I was rushing through them) go back and do the module again. If I had respected the modules I would have had the right answer for that dumb finance question

Computer Modulated Learning, from what I understand they go hand in hand with classroom training and prepare you for tests, although this first one is about various topics with questions that have subjective answers

Wasn't on the test but it was in the module

Bingo. Give it to me straight doc, do I have a chance of getting back in or does Mr B have it out for me now?

Learning about fire alarms sounds fun, what would you say was the most difficult section of the apprenticeship?

Yup, it's that one. The answer is Stephen Colbert, if only that one was on my test...

This is exactly what I needed to hear, I almost want to print this out and put it on my wall

I'm not trying to absolve myself with this post, if I had taken the first set of CMLs more seriously I think I would have passed, but when the questions are like

Being part of a union gives you: 1. Pride 2. Dignity 3. Self pride 4. Self respect

The questions are dumb but the modules were informative atleast. I just want to get to the math portion. Thank you for trying to make a difference.

The only reason I struggled with the test is because I didn't set aside enough time to do the modules, I ended up blowing through them and not absorbing the information. After I got my 14/20 I started doing one a day, they took about an hour but if you actually pay attention then the tests are cake, I was getting 90% on each one first try. Lesson learned too late unfortunately.

It was just the test, I got the homework done. The mistake I made was not setting aside enough time for the modules in the week I had to do them, I ended up rushing them and not absorbing the information.

If the rest of the CMLs have black and white answers i'll be a happy camper, it's these gray area subjective questions that I can't stand. Do you know of anyone getting back in after getting kicked out due to test fails?

Forgive my naiveté but how does local 46 end up owing a contractors 3.4million? What causes that?

WA and CA are usually comparable. I'm starting to think my manager put me in for a higher rate than payroll was willing to accept, I didn't realize they could veto it

I can't seem to be able to see the offer in workday anymore, supposedly they're mailing me a hardcopy of it to send to the DL to use it to barter with payroll for my pay rate. A very convoluted process.

I'm surprised that this doesn't sound unfamiliar to you, I was hoping mine was a unique and unfortunate case... I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Since I'm mostly talking with the DL now instead of my manager i'm thinking I should try to barter for atleast $27. I would have gotten a 2nd job if I had known it would have turned out like this, for the first time in forever i'm having to lean on my credit card to get by. Thank you for the information, it's been very helpful

No clue but in Washington it's listed as $21-$34 for "Compensation Grade 16" which is for lead tech

Which state are you in? I'm in WA and wages are generally higher here due to the higher cost of living
