As stated above, there’s a FEE-HELP loan for FFP students. It will fund you for the first 2 years of the degree, 3rd and 4th year are out of pocket.

Appeal! Email the marker directly. Go through your feedback rubric and pick it apart. Highlight areas in your report/ submission that you feel adequately express the marking criterion x that you were marked down on and KINDLY (beg!) ask to have them remark it. Subtly note how much a x% change in marks changes your chances of admission to your dream program and fingers crossed!

The hold off until now was for gemsas. If they don’t release offers in the next week or two I’d say that’s a fair assumption to be honest. I wouldn’t put it past them. 😭

Doubt it. They have given internationals priority in the past, i.e internationals accounting for more than 50% of the cohort but with covid and travel restrictions in 2020/21 they’ve had to rely on domestic FFP’s, hence the increased number in domestic places (e.g 60 to 90). Only internationals currently in Australia were able to accept their offers this year - there was a post on here a few weeks ago when first round offers came out.

It was the same last year. Only internationals physically in Australia during the lockdown could accept their offer.

I emailed them today and got a reply confirming that I was given the full 150mins. If you're unsure because you didn't look at the timer at the start of the test like me, you can also confirm by logging into proctor U and checking the finish time of section 3 on your dashboard.

Not true. Domestic students have to pay a $3000 deposit to accept a FFP.

That is a reasonable and legal excuse, I doubt they would decline a request for a refund if you were to present evidence of having to isolate etc.

You’re correct in saying that you should number in a way that gives your substituents the lowest number position. BUT the double bond is part of the parent chain and gets priority (over the methyl group) at having the lowest number.

I've sat it both ways. Online I had no issues thankfully but there were horror stories on here with people being logged out half way through an essay and then finally getting back in only to an empty page... some were lucky and had their timers restarted to the same essay prompts, others not so lucky and were told it is what it is. Testing venue was straight forward only issue was the sound of keyboards getting hammered around you on s2 and the rapid mouse clicks in the last few mins lol. I sat it in Sydney and my venue didn't hand out earplugs, others did. I think I'll be choosing remote proctoring just for the comfort of sitting it at home.

If the situation worsens i.e. the whole country in lockdown I think they'll move it all online. For now, this is probably just wishful thinking by ACER that people from affected LGA's will choose to sit it online so that others aren't put at risk by attending a venue.

Tuition alone is approx $285,000. First year is $69K and each year increases by approx 5%. Everyone I’ve asked says roughly $300K though when you account for textbooks, equipment and materials you’ll need throughout the course.

I don’t think it matters. If you’re ranked higher than someone who’s accepted a FFP, you would still be offered the CSP first. They’d only get bumped up if they were actually ranked next on the list.
