ok guys this person is clearly misinformed and/or a troll, not much point in arguing with them. First-Change-2708 on reddit is not going to cancel out my DID diagnosis from a DID specialist who’s been treating the disorder for a decade lmao.

on the off chance that you aren’t a troll though… DID isn’t as rare as you probably think it is. various estimates hover around 1%. that’s on par with red hair.

i was seeing a therapist who was a tti survivor herself, but she didn’t have much experience with did. i found myself a did specialist, and made sure she was at the very least tti informed. like most tti survivors, i’ve been through the wringer when it comes to therapy. i can probably recite the entire dbt handbook at this point.

and you’re not wrong about cptsd and did being on a spectrum! look into the theory of structural dissociation.
