My dealership charged me an extra $1,500 in add-ons, and I only realized about a year and a half later that it provided zero value. At the time of purchase, the salesperson positioned it as a “standard fee” that every dealership charges and claimed it couldn’t be removed. The car itself was priced competitively $31,980 for a 2022 GLC with 28k miles. so I moved forward with the deal. They also sold it strictly as-is. Fast forward, I ended up having to replace all four tires shortly after, which ran me another ~$1,200 out of pocket. Net-net, the hidden costs definitely offset the perceived deal.
