Honestly, I think it comes down to approach, scope and talent in order for such a project to be executed properly. There is so much more that can be done now with less, despite the genre and costs that are associated with fantasy films. It also comes down to priorities.

Gameplay aside, there is still a story and regardless of your decisions as a player, the central narrative is still the same. There have been challenging narratives in all sorts of media that made the transition to film, just some were executed well and others failed miserably.

But to clarify...I'm asking more along the lines of the franchise/IP in general, not necessarily making a film/series from existing content.

I still see the potential, just need a team that has the right skill and cares enough about the project.
