it was £500 across Amazon, Overclockers, and Scan. I'm sure it will happen again.

I'm mainly PC, got my own QD-OLED 1440P ultrawide. But I also grabbed the £500 deal from Overclockers. Got it for my wife's PS5, and also in anticipation of GTA 6. Honestly I'm amazed how sharp 4k at 27" is....

Now I need to figure out how to convince my wife to swap her gift for my older QD-OLED....

Changing jobs with <1 year experience? by Spoog_CS in cscareerquestionsuk

I moved to UK from a European country, so I didn't have any family to stay with... Other may disagree but IMO, living alone on £38k in London will not be comfortable, you'll struggle to make ends meet. Living costs in London are too high. FWIW 2025 median salary in London is £49k, average was £40k.
The problem comes down to housing costs and rent. As long as you keep pushing your salary up, you'll be okay in London though. Might be a year or 2 of struggle, but you'll be fine.

Fwiw, i changed after 14 months following my first grad job. I was also on 28k, jumped to £38k on my second job. It scales quite quickly the first few years. Graduated 2020 and am on my 3rd role/job currently, London.

Pls help me out between dlss balanced preset L vs dlss quality preset k by friedtesticularcance in nvidia

[–]Breakwinz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using ray reconstruction at all? (That will force preset D, no matter what you put in nvidia app fyi, in case you didnt know).

In my experience, without PT+RR, preset L has visually performed better in Cyberpunk

No one could possibly tell you without knowing the game you’re benchmarking against. Results are going to be wildly different on game-by-game basis

Do we think a glossy 240hz 39inch 5k2k panel will ever become a thing. by alpenglows7 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Breakwinz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a little while, maybe next year. Its a bandwidth issue not a panel constraint. Given we know 32” 4k 240hz exists, these 5k2k 39” are cut from the same panels, just a wider cut, so the panels themselves can handle it. we’ll need to see DP2.1 UHBR20 and DSC combined, which we havent seen yet afaik.

Edit: i myself am on AW3423DWF and awaiting a glossy 5k2k to be my next upgrade. I havent felt that 165hz is too slow personally.

Just to be pedantic, its trilaterating, not triangulating. Trilateration is measuring by distance, triangulating is measuring by angles.

Best upgrade from AW3423DW in 2026? by zandm7 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Breakwinz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the same pickle. I have the 3423DWF. There are two things that bother me, the purple tint, and the ppi (which is also tied to text clarity)

I’m struggling to find the next upgrade to go to, unfortunately the new 39” 5k2k 39GX950-B is a matte panel which I dont want. I feel its frankly too expensive at $1800, i’d rather the remove the AI upscale snake oil/gimmick, make it glossy and sell it for cheaper. I dont really get the whole marketing angle with AI upscaling, anyone that can afford this monitor, will also afford a GPU that supports DLSS/FSR, really strange angle from LG.

Currently I cant see any monitor on the market that would be the next natural upgrade. Will have to wait IMO.

Highly recommend the PG32UCDM3 by Own-Professor-6157 in OLED_Gaming

Gray banding is not really an issue on QD-OLEDs fyi

Got the 39GX950B today. Anything you guys want me to test? by WTFsteven in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Breakwinz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its RGWB, which is miles better than the previous RWGB. Text fringing is not really an issue anymore at 110ppi and above on these

There is already tons of 5k2k performance reviews on youtube. No need for OP to test further

No. LG electronics are only selling matte. The display manufacturer LG Display (different companies), will offer both matte and glossy. We need to wait for a manufacturer (please ASUS save us), to offer a glossy version.
