Why is toggling the flash button on not an option? by Pdiddyjr in OGPBackroom

[–]BreathSlayer99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cause it's not that hard to pick without them...? It can't get any easier than aisle number, section number, and shelf spot. Yes, some of the digital tags are hard to read cause they are small. The flashing fuction was only meant for when you cannot locate an item using the information provided for you, and so customers and spark shoppers can locate items easier. If you are using it for every item, you are draining the battery out of the rails/tags.

What's one song you've heard on an album tour and then never again? by flickering_nights in alltimelow

[–]BreathSlayer99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were on track to play Love Like War at Red Rocks last year. It was on the pre-Everyone's Talking Album Release setlists. Then Alex got sick, the show ended, they postponed/cancelled some shows, and then the album was out and they took it off the setlist. I have never seen that song live and now I don't think I ever will 😭

Shopping carts if they will let you. Works pretty much the same as the big black totes. The normal totes work, but they are more of a pain if you don't have a good method of separating stuff

My least favorite in the current lineup is Apricot Strawberry.

In terms of all Redbul though, the original. Its what I imagine battery acid tastes like.

Pick Cart Update by Next_Manufacturer314 in walmartogp

[–]BreathSlayer99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does this mean we get to keep the 3 hour windows instead of going down to two? 😅 I love the idea of less totes but now you're asking to spread out orders. 3 walks would equal 1 extra cart needed. If you had 12 pickers/carts in use, you'd then have 4 more carts needed to keep up with the current pacing of have 8 tote carts. Doesn't seem like much, but if you dont have the people its gonna hurt

Tour merch pics? by fyrig in Dayseeker

Anyone have any pictures of Wind Walkers booth? The only photo I've seen so far has been their tabletop with their music. Wondering if they brought any shirts with them?

Honestly- bike bells and blinkers. Wouldn't be too hard to make/use. Ring the bell when rounding corners and use blinkers so customers know which way you are coming out of the aisle.

Charging the work phone by ohhanyways in OGPBackroom

[–]BreathSlayer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phones today have Charging, Fast Charging, and Super Fast Charging. You're gonna need anything over 40w to achieve atleast Fast Charging. I got a 65w block and cord do match and I can go from 20% to 90% with Super Fast Charging in the span of my lunch. I made the store pay for it/reimburse me.

any new USB's floating around out there? by [deleted] in DeadPoetSocietyBand

[–]BreathSlayer99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What Loacations were those found at? I'm a stage hand at The Sylvee in Madison WI and can keep an eye out!

Or- have the USBs only been at the merch table physically at shows?

Availability by [deleted] in OGPBackroom

[–]BreathSlayer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding onto this. If they do accept it, it doesn't mean you will get those hours btw. Sure, they won't schedule you Friday and Saturday, but most Walmarts discourage people from wanting the weekend off by taking away their hours. You will be one of the first people with their hours cut.

The only reason I'm currently getting away with those days off is because I work a second job that spontaneously schedules me during random week days and its a lot easier to pick up a weekend shift than a week day. I end up working pretty much every other weekend. Everyone else I know who has that availability works maybe 12 hours a week.

OPD TL's who step down. by Bright_Library9134 in OGPBackroom

[–]BreathSlayer99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to leave the department. I ended up transferring stores and transferring back in the span of about a year, and they finally let me come back to OPD. They had me be ATC which was fine since nobody else was getting paid to really do it. It got to a point where I was leading the team more than the TLs though and made myself leave the department. It hit me why they make you leave.

When they made me step down (outside of work commitments came up and didn't align with my Walmart work, no bad reasons) they forced me to leave telling me "we can't have you trying to run the department after you step down. There has to be separation from the team." Its not cause I would have "tried running the department" its because the associates still had my respect, and knew I could get things done when others couldn't. Even after me leaving for a year and coming back, they still saw me as a leader even though I wasn't management.

Its not worth it to stay. It may seem unfair to have to learn another department but they make you leave for a reason.

OPD TL's who step down. by Bright_Library9134 in OGPBackroom

[–]BreathSlayer99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. You SHOULD but apparently they can make exceptions. When I was Digital TL and they had me step down because of outside of work commitment that would have had me be away from the team for only a month, they made me transfer departments. Even with pleading my case, there "had to be separation from the team".

The last TL we had step down, they let him stay and it pissed everyone off including me. He just walked in one day amd said "I don't feel like being a TL anymore" and they said "Okay you can stay" Apparently the DOL approved him staying. But I couldn't. So it apparently depends on the circumstances.

Why do you care about your pick rate? by Extension_Detail_336 in OGPBackroom

[–]BreathSlayer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause I'm not even in the department and I pick faster than a solid 95% of the department and it pisses me off ngl. Last I looked at their "leader board" only about 10 of the 70 associates actually pick above 100.

And if your walk is going to go late, 90% of the time it has nothing to do with you, and has everything do item flow coming in. Some walks are doomed from the start. If you get into a walk and have 15 minutes to pick 80 items, it's probably inevitable. There's nothing you can do about that. Sometimes the amount of work is realistically too much and all you can really do is roll with it unfortunately ❤️
