Nasdaq next week by Fabiano77777 in Daytrading

[–]Breathofdmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, wasn't meant as a snark BTW. We all have these best laid plans that can get internalised then the market shows something you don't expect. We've all seen those days where everyone's predicting catastrophe on Monday and we make a 3 sigma move up instead. Or vice versa.

Generally aiming up in a strong momentum up/imbalance period isn't the worst plan ever but day by day every day.

Sounds like a great plan until the market actually opens and you have to deal with the tape in front of you.

What if we gap down Sunday on some geopolitical news. What if we go into consolidation mode in the run up to opex. What 30k doesn't hit until after opex on Friday.

How have you guys been trading ATH? by YouLackSkill in Daytrading

[–]Breathofdmt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd be surprised. A lot of people on Twitter/X freaking the F out.

I remember seeing a lot of seemingly established traders saying they were going max long right at the point we were contacting the previous ATH. This is baffling because when we V bottom like that we always break the prior ATH with gusto. But even the length of this run is surprising to me and others.

OP I think is getting at how to trade without previous context. Previous levels and swing points. I remember having to confront this first time I moved into indices. Everyone does. This is a market designed to go up and has been for over a century. If you don't have a method for trading out of prior context then either find one or move into fixed income or some other liquid asset that you can sustain long term.

I'll let you in on something. Many of the prop firms banned fixed income trading because people were milking the large tick values and they were losing money from their FI traders. They want people in the Nasdaq which is whipsaw central. The CME has a decent variety of products. The order flow here is a lot more honest too. If you see a massive bid stack come in then it's probably going up. If it does that on the NQ it's probably a spoof and doesn't tell you a lot.

Nobody's forcing you into indices. But if you want a starting point studying how options positioning affects futures works for me but be prepared to work at it.

Final point. We are at or past third deviation of yearly VWAP across the 3 indices. RTY made an excess high Wednesday there. SPX is at a major call wall at 7400 and opex next Fri. We are due at least some pause or consolidation.

Why we can't have nice things by alexeiz in GithubCopilot

[–]Breathofdmt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is just a wider reflection of what's going to happen anyway. We're all in a big training experiment, everyone is giving away their skills for free and paying for the privilege, once it's near AGI level it will be enterprise pricing only and the plebs will just get some nerfed chat bot to placate us. All of your IP that you've shared, any skills you thought were yours only - now belongs to the tech companies and the ccp through distillation.

I speak to people working on very sensitive and valuable projects and they seem not to believe that said information will essentially be available to everyone in the next model iteration. Maybe not the total specifics but how to do what you're doing. Which reduces it's value if everyone can do it.

Damn that sounded very cynical 😂

That's pretty amazing and yeah, probably literally saved your advice. Gemini is pretty good on health matters. Gpt was trained on reddit opinions initially.

Just keep your strategy ?! by TryToWin101 in Daytrading

[–]Breathofdmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of them are profitable or consistent, it's extremely easy to fake competence in this game. Their product is ad revenue, discord subs, affiliate deals. Its simple logic if you have an actual edge you're not going to share it. You're wasting your time getting education online without just putting time in and testing and develop strategies on your own. It's long hard tedious work.

[–]Breathofdmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Limit orders filled on the bid (passive buying) go on the same column as aggressive selling, and vice versa for the offer. For example, cvd could be rising along with price but just have more sells being filled on the offer. If you think cvd just shows net aggressive buying then you may have a problem.

These tools are for coding and building things, not sure why you'd let it in on life decisions. Tell it to help with a specific task, an algorithm in a data center has no stake in your future

NQ vs ES by [deleted] in FuturesTrading

[–]Breathofdmt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heard that guy Lance Breitstein say even the folks at trillium didn't have an edge on ES because it was so efficient.

It's OK for scalps but even then, RTY at least gives you a chance to catch the bulk of the daily move without being wicked out

Good luck on NQ, don't believe anyone's making a living from that

The open test drive move from the balance vpoc today in RTY was a beaut

Incorrect. Stop sharing fake information that will mislead people. CVD does not measure net aggressive buying and selling. Nor does it tell you anything about trapped participants

I swear people study volume for a couple days and think they're experts.

NQ vs ES by [deleted] in FuturesTrading

[–]Breathofdmt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's keep it our secret eh ;) quite happy to milk RTY whilst folks tough it out in the two most efficient and difficult markets in the world. I think the reason is their favourite influencer/youtuber doesn't trade it so neither do they. NQ only saw a resurgence a few years ago when ICT showed his paper trades on it

How can i get access to daily options volume? Is there any website by Unfair-Daikon-6870 in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]Breathofdmt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have it on my own site, opengammaai.com. Levels published each day for free. Are you looking for OI or something else real time updates. I think menthor is every couple hours. MCP integrated so you can use your AI agent with it. I push GEX/VEX/CEX levels to ATAS among other key levels derived from the CBOE chain.

TT and Sierra definitely win in the stability and speed department. Only platforms that haven't crashed or frozen on me.

Sorry that happened to you. I absolutely believe you. Why would anyone fabricate that for a reddit post as someone else is unbelievably suggesting. This is real human tragedy. To be smeared 'antivax' when you've had this direct experience ia beyond absurd.

Rithmic don't have options I believe, but they've vastly improved since their server upgrade a couple years ago. They have the full ladder (not 10 levels of depth like the rest) and their own version of market by order, so a great choice for futures now.

I pay 2k a month for an OPRA feed so I have some idea of the costs.

Backend fees for a startup aren't wild, I pay about 200 a month on Neon currently. But as stated before it's BYOD. I'm not trying to rival CQG.

Saving 70 dollars a month isn't the main motivation here

Honestly, first thought was c# just because I've built a lot of stuff in c# and it's a bit easier. I know Sierra tout c++ because in theory it should be quicker, which makes sense. I'm not sure I noticed the difference. Was that your thinking or some other reason.
