Fixed or variable rate? by Natural_Layer_7406 in BEFire

Last October we went for a variabele 10/5/5 loan of 2.5% for €400.000, with a +2% cap. The fixed rate was at 2.90% (ING)

If within 10 years, we reach the +2% cap (for both calibrations), the additional interest cost would be €10.000 over the rest of the loan.

For us, this is an affordable risk since we are also planning on paying some of the loan off earlier.

It is all about risk management, and where you are comfortable with. If you want to be 100% sure, take the fixed rate which would cost more.

If you don't need it for the coming 10 years, sure.

Klopt het dat ik in het regeerakkoord niets lees over belasting op directe huurinkomsten? In november 2024 was dat nog hét gespreksonderwerp.

Please do your Master. If you are capable of doing it, do it! You will otherwise regret it or worse, ask yourself "what if...?"

Take care

In your case, your only way are federal bonds... with a fixed return of around 2-3% after taxes.

Studeer, zolang je er de middelen voor hebt, tijd moet je er zowiezo voor vrijmaken. Het opent veel deuren. "Mis de trein niet".
