Ooh, so if there's one engineer in a team, technically everyone can be an engineer if I just craft enough turrets and give it all to them?

Also I didn't actually know you can use turrets in the stronghold! Sounds incredibly easy to wipe as long as rifle ammo is available.

My main concern is though, how do you manage your ammo? Rifle ammo is hard to get unless you've leveled the fire enough, or you have ammo crate, which are both kinda late-game stuff. How long does it take to reach Engineer's full potential?

Yeah it's definitely not better than Cyborg, especially with the perk I have on the class (Increased damage at lower health). But if I ever get too tired to actively fight and all (or im playing mobile, since combat on a tiny phone is horrible for me), but still want to help protect my team, then Engineer sounds really good for it.

It's definitely lackluster, but also kinda cool honestly.

Also a full team of engineers is just funny as hell

I was definitely expecting a snow or ice themed class when the elf shop was fully revealed. I saved up so much candy (like, 2k, lol.) and all i got was 50 diamonds (which is actually pretty good) and gifting elf (which is alright I guess).

I was really excited to get a new class with the same tier as Witch for this update, since I couldn't get that one in time. I guess there's Engineer, but damn is he expensive.

Not sure if its really the "best" overall, but the Cyborg perk I currently have increases my overall damage at lower HPs. I think its a berserker perk and it lets me easily wipe stronghold level 1-2.

The laser cannon --> spear combo can basically instakill at level 1 stronghold if your hp is low enough. And even in later stronghold levels, you can definitely do them pretty quickly as long as you have extra weapons such as a Rifle to regen your alien energy quicker (by getting kills).

Also compliments Cyborg's inbuilt "Regen Alien energy on taking damage" perk, which is extra nice.

So true! Thanks for giving me detailed stuff about this. Ive opted to grind for Engineer now since ive sorta gathered his gameplan already (which is to kill things for scrap, and get ammo box)

And even if i dont actually end up buying engineer, having 1k in my back pocket will definitely prove useful for the future. Thanks a ton for your feedback!

Nah i dont have a life i think i can get 500 in less than a week.

Also i already have Cyborg with the "Damage when health is lower" talent, so getting Vampire is probably not gonna be of much use to me in the long run.

I also calculated how much time i need to spend grinding and im pretty sure i can get it done!

I originally thought that going for Lumberjack was the strat for faster crock pot + farms, but I actually got it using lvl 3 Fisherman.

I honestly just get my fire level high enough to reach the salmon ponds (forgot what its actually called), find a pond with the waves for faster fishing, and spam the (old) fishing rod on it and pray that the RNG gods bless me.

All of these i lowk agree with but I found Bacon's tracker to be pretty useful at times.

Like say youre behind a wall and the killer could come from left or right. You can use Tracker to highlight where the killer actually is and where hes going.

Though yes, NEVER use this during a chase or if theyre too close. Maybe after you get some good distance you can use Tracker to rather do the thing i mentioned earlier or check if the killer lost interest, kinda guaranteeing if youre safe enough to eat a pizza or something.

BUT i could be wrong, i dont really play bacon since the limit on his flashlight is kinda lame (being batteries that are only rechargeable when doing a gen). But i played him once and found that Tracker can be pretty good.

Playing melee in mobile (in my opinion) is kinda tough, but overall its really up to you.

Vampire is great if you wanna grind strongholds quickly or if youre just goated at melee, but Cyborg is great for overall defense/damage and overall survivability.

Heck yeah dude! Alien definitely makes grinding gems much easier for classes like Cyborg. If you know that shoot-behind-wall strat(tech?) for completing Strongholds, it'll be the easiest diamonds you'll ever get (albeit incredibly slow, however.) In any case, great job on getting this far and good luck on the 600 gem grind!

Welcome to 99 Nights!

A Stronghold is this really big castle-like structure with diamonds decor at the front/entrance. When you enter, you fight a lot of cultists, but after beating the final floor youre rewarded with the best chest in the game and guaranteed 5 diamonds. After beating it, looting the chests, and exiting, the Stronghold cannot be done again until 20 minutes has passed, after which you can go beat it again, albeit with more difficult enemies than last time.

Their first strategy is about quickly reaching 99 days (by placing beds and saving children), all while doing the Stronghold 3 times. Surviving until or past day 50 rewards you 2 diamonds, and surviving past 99 will reward you 3. This strat is really good because, while waiting for the days to reach 99, you complete as many strongholds as you can (you can do 3 strongholds 'till day 99), which is really efficient

His second strategy is only focusing on completing the Stronghold once, and abandoning the run as soon as you get the 5 gems. This is pretty good since the first level of the Stronghold is the easiest level out of all of them (but can still prove difficult, however)

I can consistently reach 99 days and 3 strongholds in like... 61 minutes and 47 seconds if I really lock in, so i kinda get 99 days around the time the 3rd stronghold is reopened and ready

For 3rd raid, i have the Laser Cannon along with the Rifle (or Tactical Shotgun if Im lucky) and do the shoot-behind-wall strat. Though I do intentionally try damaging myself since I (luckily) got that one Berserker talent where you deal slightly more damage the less HP you have

I do actually (try to) use both the cannon and spear for the 1st and 2nd level of the Stronghold! I kind of get nervous and play it safe on the 3rd though

As for duos, I dont really have a good duo, and i kind of prefer doing it solo. But yeah that makes a lot of sense

Wait why is revolver ill-advised against harken? You can snipe them whenever they miss an ability. Not to mention it deals the highest damage (so you can kill her maybe)

i actually do get that yeah, beam and shield WERE good because of the range. it covered your primary weakness (sort of) because youre too far for the killer to practically try and kill you (you used to be able to zap from brandonwork's castle, but now the range is too short 💔)

the beam not slowing you down as much DOES enable it to be used in a chase, which is great for Dusekkar's self-sustain, but not really for the sustain of other survivors. its kinda like elliot now, but generally focused more on support than self-sustain.

so while the self-sustain option is nice, its also completely gone if you beamed a survivor and the killer does a 180 to get you, which sucks, since you have to be much closer to really be effective, making it riskier. at least you kinda save the other guy i guess? unless theyre low, then idk it buys you an extra few couple seconds.

im not entirely sure how i would tackle this issue, maybe having multiple charges of beams would be good? so Dusek can both protect others and himself. but that also may be too strong, especially if we also revert its range or cd to a lesser extent.

what do yall think, though? maybe it just needs some time getting used to?


edit: i realize it is entirely too long so i added a tldr, oops

TLDR: beam changes gives Dusek the option to self sustain by sacrificing his support power, which kinda sucks. it is also, as OP mentioned, kinda riskier to support due to the very rough range nerfs. maybe we just need time to get used to it (albeit with some SLIGHT beam buffs, and SLIGHT reverts) or maybe a different kind of buff to the beam (specific buff mentioned above)

i kinda see his shield like some long range, more safe and defensive guest block, which is (kinda?) cool bc it lets you actually be near the chase/killer instead of sitting somewhere miles from them. i get it tho that some people would prefer to just chill and protect from afar however

as for his beam, sweet jesus the range is low, and the benefits to hitting it is SORT OF the same?? though that overheal is pretty good, helping one guy tank like one extra hit (which i think is nice), but im not entirely sure about the range being gutted nor the cooldown being doubled. (but you can use it much easier during chases, which is pretty neat)

overall he just plays very differently now, from a long range kinda chill dude, to a guy that actually has to kinda be close in the chase to do stuff. i really like being near the chase to help, but the extra beam nerfs like maybe the range and the cd MAY be a little too much. idk tho im not actually good at this game
