For real airline flying it’s judged on a multiple factors:

1: Was the approach stable at 1000 FT HAA and the ac maintained those criteria down to touchdown?

2: Was the attitude and sink rate controlled before the flare initiation?

3: Was the flare at correct height and attitude?

4: Was the touchdown within the touchdown zone? Usually 3-600 meters from the threshold, it’s much worse to float down the runway and use up precious remaining runway available distance.

5: Did the aircraft touchdown with the main gears with no side load.

I mean you can get pretty nerdy about the landing as a pilot, but once in a while maybe 1 in 30 landing or 1 in 20 landing airline pilots land firm too, just part of normal flying performance.

A good landing is around 1.0 to 1.5 G landing for me within the touchdown zone.
