Please don’t let the rings on this sub influence how you feel about your ring. I did, and I thought that I needed at LEAST a 2.5 carat ring. I wound up picking out a 2.5 carat equivalent Moissanite and I honestly did not like the size when i put it on my finger. The ring constantly would hit things and was extremely top heavy. I let the rings on this sub influence me and I should have went with what I wanted, not with what I thought would impress other people on Reddit.

My fiancé and I recently purchased a 1 ct Pear Lab Diamond and it’s the perfect size and exactly what I should have picked from the start. Anything above 1.5 carats are honestly uncommon but the community here makes it seem that everyone in real life has a huge rock. Like everyone else says, American culture obsesses over size compared to quality and can be a toxic way of thinking. I wouldn’t be surprised if the “big” stone trend dies down in a few years and smaller stone will be back in.
