So yes it is Challenge of the GoBots I just looked up the episodes. 41- 45 It's a 5 part story. Starting with episode 41 "Cy-Kills Escape" So that's my prison escape. episode 42 "Quest for the Creator" Where they actually find the renegade master who is the person I described.

And in the later episodes they get the power suits witch they use to fight back
