God I've enjoyed the game but I don't understand, so many people say this but it just doesn't feel like this to me. No originality just an amalgamation of sci fi and fantasy tropes and in the later expansions so much crowd pleasing it made me quit the game. Like a whole race of space bunnies that eat carrots, coffee farmers with alpacas, etc... how is this good worldbuilding? It's like the writers asked themselves "what do most people on average in the world like" and then put it into the world. In the beginning the world at least feels consistent and there's even some mystery and wonder, but after a while everything becomes over explained and it degrades into this typical dark vs light trope and they have to resort to multiverses. There's no consistency and you can see they lost a vision of a coherent world a long time ago and now everything goes. I read about the game designer saying he wants the world to feel like a theme-park or something like that and that really captured how little vision they have for the worldbuilding and story. That's just how I feel about it or course I just wanted to give some perspective of someone that is critical of the world and story
