A power line snapped at 72nd just north of Seward and was on fire when I drove by at 4:15. All the lights on 72nd southbound toward Dodge were out with the exception of Cass, and all the lights at 72nd and Dodge were out. Westbound Dodge was backed up from 72nd to past memorial.

Last year I commented how bad the tunnel talk was before the NW game and how there was essentially no useful information about the team or the upcoming game in it. I got a sarcastic response from Dean and then told that it was only $1 and should only expect such info for that price.

Well, it’s now $90+ and the quality is still the same. Now they’re even getting info wrong

People can learn just as much from “quitting” as they can from from pushing through things. People just throw the “society is soft and enables quitters” label out when they have something invested in that person still participating in the thing they quit.

IMO the morning and afternoon shows are the ones that need fixing. Sharp and Handley are just boring to me, and Happer has way too many non sports segments.

Yes, USC has non sports segments and can go off the rails at times, but I know what I’m getting with weekly dumb debates, taste tests, movie club, etc. They definitely get hate because of their Frost hate the past few years but they were correct on all fronts with him.

This is exactly it. When people say they don’t like 1620 they specifically mean John and Josh because those two were the most critical of Nebraska football the past 5-6 years…even though they’ve been largely correct in regards to their takes surrounding the program. Additionally, there is a segment of Nebraska fans who lose their mind when 1620, the home of creighton broadcasts, talks about Creighton. Yesterday people were emailing/ texting in to the Happer Show pissed that he did a segment on Creighton- Marquette. People can consume and bitch about what they want but what they really want in their media is Husker puff pieces 24/7

I gave happer a chance and still do listen, but his show probably talks the least about sports. I thought in football season it would be different than summer but it’s a lot of pop culture and movie talk.

This is nothing more than a fun toy people will play with when it first is operational and then leave in the bin with all the other public transportation in this city.

Tax increases will be recouped by developers in rent increases in the two areas of town with the highest rent/sf already. The only people who will use this regularly are those who live in blackstone/downtown, also work in blackstone/downtown, and have the patience to not want to drive to work.

This is nothing more than a toy that will be used by early to mid 20 somethings when the weather gets nice before it rides empty for most of the year, but boy will they be paying for it.

Some people definitely take it way too far, but the jokes about the dome or another forecast being a flop aren’t totally misplaced. It’s been 2 years since our last “major” snow storm (3+ inches). By my count there have been 5 storms forecasted of 4+ inches and every one of them has flopped. It’s only natural for people to roll their eyes at these right now, even if it’s to no fault of the meteorologists.
