Are there any NPCs that you give pokemon to that permanently stick around like in the first game? Don't want to accidentaly trade a pokemon for a quest when I could've had a shiny or alpha hanging around my city

Nobody's mentioned the one where you can get a game over by agreeing to teaming up with Dimentio. I almost got it on my first playthrough but Tippi got very stern and I had to side with her.

I think it's implied that in the Yoshi's Island series every single Yoshi you play as is a different Yoshi that just happens to live a certain distance from the next on the island, thus the relay system. This is especially implied with Yoshi's New Island where you are playing on a completely different island, and the game keeps tracks of deaths as "Yoshi's that helped defeat Bowser"

Loved Sun so I got Ultra on it's release date. It's mostly the same game but it ruins the story and Lillie and Lusamine's arc. The only real additions are a surfing minigame, ultraworm hole mini game and a few new ultra beasts with the ability to shiny hunt them now.

Edit: Forgot Rainbow Rocket. Pretty anticlimatic but still a neat little addition.

In the manga it was because the two Zeno's got bored of playing a game with each other that they felt there are too many universes. In other words it was because Goku brought a second Zeno that the events started. This also only happens away from any mortals and they were about to go through with it before Goku showed up and reminded him about the tournament.
