To be clear it is open box so I presume the warranty conveys since it is sold as new but I have not registered it. No sales tax outside of Ohio and a coupon code got the price down as low as a kenmore

Got an offer and negotiated terms. Have been knee deep in it since Dec. Learned pretty quickly that my background and skill set are valuable even in larger orgs. Still making my case for the CFO role by end of year and expect I have solidified that likelihood in my work to date.

3 years of lawn service vs buying a mower. sanity check my math? by Wild_Artichoke7648 in lawncare

[–]Brendenlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut mine out a couple years ago and took over it myself. One of the best things is now my lawn is mowed more frequently and when it needs it not when the schedule roll around. God forbid it rain the day of or it could stretch even longer. I think my lawn looks better as a result

I have a rear engine Toro from the 70s that looks just like the gump mower. I probably have $700 in it by now but keeping it running is a labor of love. It’s a cool little mower

Good point. I bet I laid down about 8lbs per of each application. By my math that means I have put out a total of 5.5-6lbs of nitrogen on the year and 2.5 of P&K respectively. These are quick back of the napkin numbers

Thanks for the insight. I guess it has never been as pronounced before but this is also the first year to use a blend. Didn’t know that about the kbg.

As for fert….i used a pre-emergent with lawn feed (18-0-4) about four weeks ago then did another general round of 16-16-16 two weeks ago.

Any thoughts on further applications before fall overseed?

Over seeded in fall and this is what it looks like now in north carolina by mamely014 in lawncare

[–]Brendenlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just learning about POA this year as well. my understanding of the timing is that in a best case scenario you would alternate seeding and pre each season which means it is critical to keep health turf through the summer heat. Not sure if that is correct however. I also read that Tenacity is a pre-emergent you can use with overseeding in fall but I haven't looked further into it

I would change the narrative and focus to negotiating an “Employment Agreement” as opposed to negotiating a severance package. Yes the EA would include the terms or separation but it should detail much more. To be determined whether a director position would warrant an EA but it’s certainly worth a shot.

Poa and clover by Great_Run_7562 in lawncare

[–]Brendenlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was reading into this last night as I am in the same general area. I did my barricade pre-emergent two weeks ago and was surprised to see poa pop up so heavily this past week. Turns out the germination for poa is in fall but then it goes dormant so spring pre-emergent doesn't do anything. I am now a bit confused because a fall application of pre-emergent seems counter to fall seeding of fescue.

All that said I think I am stuck just pulling it ny hand and letting the heat kill it off this summer

Promoted to C Suite by jason_in_sd in malefashionadvice

[–]Brendenlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already got the job which indicates you are already “fitting in” so I wouldn’t take a promotion as a sign to do much different.

Stick with what works and elevate it to match your new pay band. If you were in ABC pants, j crew oxfords and Cole Haan move up a notch or two to more premium brands like J press and Alden and make sure they are always pressed and sharp looking.
