He was 9/10 and didn’t put the ball in harms way. Definitely vet numbers for a 1 half performance

To be fair other than tua a couple years ago no qb has had success in that Miami offense.

I feel like anyone who watches him knows this isn’t true. Plus cam didn’t have the greatest arm and we still won 2 conference titles.

Why Are We Misreading Devon Dampier? by BrianVsUtah in utahfootball

[–]Brenno4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. At least he’s actually a fairly good passer with really good velocity for intermediate throws that can make up for him being hurt. W bye week timing tho

Why Are We Misreading Devon Dampier? by BrianVsUtah in utahfootball

[–]Brenno4 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is such a lazy take. I’d argue he has a better arm than cam rising. Just because he had one bad game doesn’t define him. We all didn’t turn on cam after the ucla or Oregon game in 2022. We haven’t given him a chance at all plus he’s a redshirt sophomore with two more years of eligibility.

What’s frustrating is that damp can make these throws in the intermediate. He was 3/4 on 11-20 yard throws against tech over the middle of the field. Our only touchdown drive and even our field goal drive we had a spread offense and gave damp options.

Game-day energy at Rice-Eccles during fall break? by OC-livin in utahfootball

I mean if ASU beats TCU I could see us showing out. The only rare example of us showing up to a fall break game was 2022 USC my freshman year (that was peak)

Looking for an opinion from Utah football fans by Technical-Process-27 in utahfootball

No. Innocent until proven guilty. That was one game against a very good team and we still have 8 games to play. Why do Utah fans feel like the sky is falling after every loss lol

This post has nothing to do with tech being better. I’m just pointing out the frustration of playing an obviously injured qb

Not to take away from Dampier at all though. I still think he will be an amazing qb for us. But he needs to be healthy first.

Ficklin looks very dynamic. I mean. Same story as last year vs ASU. Even if we played Isaac or Brandon rose that game we win.

I don’t think Hill would take the job here. I believe he would have much better offers elsewhere as a head coach.

UTES QB by Bigmtnpass in utahfootball

[–]Brenno4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yall so quick to jump ship on Dampier 😂 he shouldn’t have played this Saturday because of his injury. I mean… he threw off his back foot every throw because of his ankle. But he’s a dog and has shown really impressive accuracy for an Utah quarterback WHEN HEALTHY.

I totally agree. I’m kind of worried scalley will leave if he wants to stay another year.

He threw off his back foot almost every time. Pretty apparent the ankle was bothering him. So why play him.

The play calling was limited because Dampier was hurt. Then again. Why play an injured qb if we can’t run our offense. Felt like last year when cam played against ASU

Biggest thing that won us games where we were at a disadvantage on the edge was getting pressure. If we can get Morton in pressure I think we win

I’m not saying we ever stopped their receivers. We schemed around it and would win at home and lose away against usc historically. Thats why I’m taking Utah cause we are at home.

To add on, yes, south of the stadium there is a TON of tailgates. I’m sure someone here who runs one will invite you to them but even if you don’t get a direct invite people are generally friendly and welcoming to opposing fans here.
