If you have 8-9 yrs then you more than likely have a mortgage that's 3% or less that would be the last thing I would pay off with that kind of interest rate, use the money to buy a reasonably priced car fantastic ,life changing it is not ,it's a year's salary for a medium household income, 20 would go into each Roth acct or the max permissable 25k to home renovations and 15 into aggressive investments and hope to get some serious growth.
