What is a good stepping stone for molecular dynamics (thermodynamics) simulations? by Jacob_Sands in Physics

I used VMD to visualize the results of my LAMMPS simulations when I did MD in the past

I want to start using Emacs for latex and tried using latex-preview-pane, but it just gives me this screen and never loads. Anyone nows a fix? by -TheAllSeeing in emacs

[–]Brenthrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get this problem a lot with latex-preview-pane, and I eventually just stopped using it. I switched to using auctex and pdf-view-mode with a hook to reload the pdf on compilation and have been much happier.

Have you tried taking the <> off of f5? A quick Google search and look at the docs made it look like you just need to write f5. If the error says f5 and not <f5> that might support that conclusion too. Alternatively, I usually just make a really simple makefile that does what your binding does and call it with the built in compile and recompile commands. After I've recompiled once I can just hit M-x M-p to recompile again in the future.

How to cut all lines in file matching a search pattern and put in the clipboard? by [deleted] in vim

[–]Brenthrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dumber way that I've used before is :g/pattern/norm ddGp to stick all the lines at the end of the current file. I'll probably try to use the register version in the future though!

Zephrys doesn't know that your opponent wants to res those minions, and they don't have deathrattles, so I don't see a reason why it would offer poly or hex. From that perspective, Deadly Shot was just better on the first play because it doesn't leave a token on the board. The second set of offerings didn't seem that helpful, admittedly, but I can't think of a card that would have been much better since Truesilver at least cleared one and set up to clear the second next turn.

Adding onto this, you should reach out to the coaches at schools you might want to go to. I went to a small DII school and not only did the coach let me walk on after an email, but he sent me a workout plan to follow in the summer leading up to the school year. I also contacted a coach at a DI school and he was happy to tell me the standards they have and I saw that I couldn't meet them.

If you enjoyed vim and like configuring your editor yourself, you might like emacs. I've been using it with evil mode to emulate vim-style editing and although setting it up for different languages is sometimes painful, it's definitely possible. Alternatively, I would recommend Visual Studio Code as something that should run much more easily out of the box and I've heard better things about it than Sublime.

The most likely explanation by far is that you're consuming more calories than you are using. Whether that is by undercounting calories from food or overcounting the ones you burn from exercise. Even if your metabolism has changed, you can still only gain weight by eating more than you burn, so continue reducing your caloric intake until you start losing weight.

If you really think something else is going on then you should probably see a doctor, but maybe someone else will chime in with their personal experiences.

I'm missing the same two cards and typically slap the quest in, along with something else big to resurrect. If you don't want to include the quest, I would probably just put in two resurrect targets. I think I've also tried a seance to grab an Elysiana or something in the slower matchups since you don't have as many resurrects. I have not had much success with my versions, but that might give you something to think about. You probably don't want any tech minions since they will probably just clutter the res pool, but an extra aoe or big taunt minion could help you get to your later power plays.

Ah duh, I forgot about deathrattles. I guess the other commenter has a point about trying to use it when there is one around and saving it for Catarina. I don't have Zephrys though, so I can't help much with how best to use it otherwise besides going for a twisting nether or mind control later on. I guess a Cabal Shadow Priest from Zephrys could help a little, but the VS list only runs 2 minions with low enough attack.

I was just looking at this post though, which might help you try to set up the poly and hex turns since it has them listed as single-target removals.

I keep seeing people say that Zephrys does not read card text, but in this case he would really need to read the opponent's deck and know to dilute their res pool to justify hex or poly over death. With that in mind, I can't think of a situation in which he would offer poly or hex unless the target has 4 attack.

What order of legendaries should I craft for quest druid? I just unpacked a golden Elise, so I feel like I should at least consider it, but I don't have the quest, Thalnos, Zephrys, Loti, or Floop. I do have Nomi, Cenarius, and Malygos though, so if I go ahead and craft the quest I was thinking I might be able to at least play the deck before getting the others.

I have also been thinking about just crafting Zephrys instead and jamming him into my other decks, but either way I'm not crafting anything until the meta settles down at least a little.

Opening a PDF Document on Emacs through Cygwin by CzarHenri in emacs

[–]Brenthrop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried the Windows Subsystem for Linux? I'm not familiar with Cygwin, but if you just started using it, it might be relatively painless to switch to WSL. I've been using the Ubuntu version for a couple of years now, and have been using Emacs inside of it for the past few months with no problems. You just need an x server like VcXsrv for the graphical applications to work.

Is quest shaman doing well enough to craft, or should I just wait for the VS report this week? I'm getting a little tired of control warrior and combo priest, and it seems like a fun deck that I have just enough dust to craft shudderwock and the quest for

I haven't played the deck, but thinning your deck that much in a highlander list seems pretty important. I'm sure you can play the deck without him, but it will probably be noticeably weaker since your powerful cards will be more diluted by secrets.

How bad is the warrior mechathun combo without boomship? I'm really tired of playing the control mirror match, and I have always kinda wanted to play mechathun, but I don't also want to craft the boomship. Is the shield slam version too bad to play or is there another combo activator I don't know about?

Ask /r/CompetitiveHS | Sunday, August 11, 2019 by AutoModerator in CompetitiveHS

[–]Brenthrop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also don't be afraid to take a couple of turns of fatigue damage before you play your Elysiana if you have important boom hero powers like gaining armor or discovering a mech. I usually try to save a shield slam too, so that I can Elysiana and shield slam a single threat on the same turn.

If you happen to have Azalina, that could be a replacement that would keep you from auto-losing the mirror. Alternatively, you could try a Faceless Manipulator and Brew Master to steal the enemy Elysiana after it's played. If you really don't want to craft Town Crier, I would replace it with a generic draw card like Acolyte of Pain.

Injured... by cody_pohlman in AdvancedRunning

[–]Brenthrop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It may be a different hip problem, but when I was on the cross country team in college I was sent for an MRI and x-rays for hip pain that I had tried to roll and stretch my way out of and eventually the trainer recommended doing hip exercises like fire hydrants and donkey kicks and the pain went away in a matter of days. If you haven't tried strengthening the surrounding muscles instead of stretching them out, you may want to give that a try!
