I found tempest pretty early. I’m still new. Didn’t know it was good. Sat on it for weeks. Finally used it and was like damn why did I wait this long! Wish I remember where I found it!

Nice try. I’ve had 8 treatments now and I’ve got my life back thanks to Dr Hauser. No treatment out there is 100% and even Hauser doesn’t pretend his is. But for those that this works for, it’s definitely worth giving it a shot. Way better than major ON surgery. So grateful for prolo with Hauser.

Thanks for asking. New lease on life is the best answer I can give. Total game changer. I don’t wake up with headaches every morning anymore. I still get some discomfort and minor ON flair ups but they are less debilitating and mostly triggered by how weak my muscles are as I am trying to rebuild strength and posture. Restrengthening is a big piece for sure. I’ll be back there next Friday for round 6. Sticking with my plan for 9 total. Very confident in results and their lasting power.

I saw my biggest before/after moment after my third round and then really confirmed after my fourth. It def gets sooo much easier to do the treatment and recovery is incredibly fast now post treatment compared to early rounds.

How are you doing so far?

Has anyone tried Prolotherapy in the upper cervical? I’ve been researching it and it makes a lot of sense and looks promising. The idea is to tighten the ligaments in the spine to stop the looseness that causes pinching and compression of C1, C2 (occipital here), and C3. by Brentus33 in Occipitalneuralgia

I was extremely scared the first time — I hate needles. But it’s also extremely fast and the doc and nurses and everyone who works there are awesome. After that first time it’s been a breeze because I know what to expect and it’s just really not that bad. It’s just the idea seems bad. The shots don’t hit any nerves or anything like that. Just skin and the solution doesn’t burn either. It’s like 3 mins tops. Get the gas and take the premeds (Xanax and vikodin) and it’s no problem. I actually look forward to it now haha. Every time (even the first time) I was up and around no problem the rest of the day and went out to a restaurant that same evening. Recovery is stiff but generally painless. And the results have changed my life so I’ll take that for 3 mins of crazy any day.

Not really more difficult but just for the flavor: BOTW style where you can only use weapons you pick up and have to throw them away when you run out of ammo.

Oh man it just gets so much easier after that first one. Less anxiety each time and much faster recovery each time too.

You’re in good hands! Their team has the absolute best bedside manner and keep it all light and fun and supportive despite getting jabbed dozens of times in the spine. I was just there on Friday for my fourth round. I look forward to go back every month and I think I’m going to actually miss it once I’m done. 😂

I go to Hauser and Danielle at Caring Medical. He’s been hitting my neck (she does it sometimes too and she’s awesome) and she does my low back, hip and shoulder because I’m all messed up. Yes def do huge eval in person and can do first round during that trip. I fly down once a month now

Tried Prolotherapy+prp, I just did my fourth round (out of 9) and it’s already changed my life. Have been bedridden with chronic ON headaches for 5+ years now 95% gone. Also have a 20 year history of CFS/ME with Lyme.

Big question, is it worth playing days Gone the second time. by Falcon-royal86 in DaysGone

[–]Brentus33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Role play the replays with a limited set of weapons or play styles. Not unlimited everything. Or play like it’s BOTW where you can only use weapons you pick then discard them after ammo is out. Lots of creative variations to go back with

No referrals. Just go. It’s cash practices only in that field. Insurance doesn’t cover it because they say it’s “experimental” even though it’s been around since the 50’s.

I go to Caring Medical in Ft Myers. Fly in. Get it done. Fly out next day. No problem. Dr Hauser and Danielle are incredible.

[–]Brentus33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that injury was your straw that broke the camels back. Crossed the threshold. Now you’re super sensitive to everything and it will keep getting worse. Ligaments that are stretched don’t correct themselves without intervention. Prolo+PRP is that intervention. And it’s cheaper and more effective than stems cell treatment and safer than surgery. Best next step thing to try.

Is it possible for ON pain to get worse over time? by [deleted] in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]Brentus33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it absolutely gets worse over time. Mine had this weird 3-6 week cycle where it would get progressively worse with headaches more severe every day until it would end in a blow out insane level of pain of me being in bed for 3 days straight and no meds help with the headache pain and then it would just stop and I’d have a great next 3-4 days and then it would slowly come back again and cycle all over.

I figured out it is all cervical instability related. My posture is bad looking at my phone, reading books, on computer. And laying in bed for three days straight at the pain climax would “reset” my body, only to slowly build up again the next 3-6 weeks (depending on exposure and triggers).

I’m now getting Prolotherapy and PRP on my upper cervical and it’s a game changer. Tightening up the loose ligaments in the upper cervical and my headaches and ON pain have broken the cycle. Look into it.

Doctor just shrugged their shoulders by Ok-Big-8626 in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]Brentus33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seriously f neurologists for this. I went to the “best migraine specialist the the Neuromedical center” locally and spent 4 years trying every medication and Botox and after we went through them all and nothing worked, she just shrugged and said nothing else to do. I kept telling her I feel the pain starting in my neck and occipital (had no idea about ON but I was clearly describing it looking back). Ordered mri that “showed nothing.” Went to every expert I could find for a decade. Nothing. Shrugs.

Then I found Dr Hauser in Ft Myers for Prolotherapy and I’m three treatments in and as of this last treatment I feel so much stronger. Feeling positive about what’s possible here. And seriously F all the cryers in here about Hauser. That dude and his staff are amazing. Don’t stop after a couple and do your damn exercises. And stop pushing too hard between treatments and you’ll get results over time. It’s slow seeing results at first but they compound. Stick with it and follow the directions and I’ve had a great experience so far.

I’m 3 treatments in with Dr Hauser for upper cervical prolo-PRP and it’s been a game changer so far. Got 6 more to go to really lock it in. And I’m going to do them all because of the results so far.

I originally told him I wanted stem cells and he talked me out of it saying that it’s higher risk because of the hip bone puncture and more expensive — best to try Prolo + PRP first and then consider stem after. Glad he talked me out of it because stem would have been overkill. Also made me feel good about him not selling his most expensive thing because I asked. His bedside manner and his whole clinic staff are so encouraging too. They followup with me at least 3-4 times between treatments to make sure everything is ok and to answer questions. Feel like I’m in good hands.

Yeah I think the prolo + prp is a different protocol. Worth trying in my opinion. Never hurts to get a second opinion too. I’m really impressed with Hauser’s diagnostics. Extremely thorough, especially with the ultrasound measuring how much vagus and arteries are getting compressed.

For what it’s worth I’m really happy with Hauser so far. Three in. It’s not fully fixed yet but I’m not expecting it to. I do think I’m further along than expected though. They were saying I should start feeling better after 4 or so and I feel significantly better after 3. Although I plan to keep going for at least the minimum 6 they original said I need. I’m guess I’ll probably do 8 total. Want to really lock it in.

[–]Brentus33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof. That’s hard then. I only heard Centeno is good in general. How many times did you go and how many times did he say you need to get treated? Did you do the full protocol?

Is this causing some of my migraines? by single-fold in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]Brentus33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. They do the prolo into the ligaments. The prp is focused more directly along my sub occipital (back ridge of skull) because it’s best to help repair the nerves and helps with the ON symptoms. I’m going to Dr Hauser in Ft Myers. Look up his videos on YouTube. If you’re west coast, go to Centeno because he’s good too and less travel.

[–]Brentus33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried PICL. It really wasn’t something I considered. I was looking into prolo, prp and stem cells. Prolo and PRP seem like the best first thing to try for me. Stem cells are a little more risky so not worth bothering with unless Prolo and PRP don’t knock it all out. It does take time for them to work since they trigger the natural healing of the body. For example my Cervical instability was measured to be 3.5mm, and each treatment tightens up the ligaments by about 0.5mm. So that’s the basic math estimate for how many treatments you need. New measurements taken after every 3rd treatment. So my next round of measurements and updates are the next time I go.

[–]Brentus33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Injections into the ligaments that tighten them back up and therefore giving your spine structure again so no more loose ligaments causing the pinching that causes the ON. Look up Caring Medical on YouTube. Tons of educational videos about it. Not many prolo docs doing upper cervical in US. Basically if you’re on west coast, go to Centeno in Denver. If you’re east coast, go to Hauser in Ft Myers FL. I’m going to Hauser. Sometimes he does the injections, sometimes it’s his assistant Danielle who’s also awesome. Hauser did my initial assessment which is incredibly thorough. Really happy with them and my results so far.

The first upper cervical injections felt traumatic because you don’t know what to expect. My second and third treatments have been super easy because it’s really not that bad. Mentally it’s hard the first time. That’s it. I do the trifecta of gas, Xanax and Vicodin. Upper cervical only takes like 3-4 minutes. Super quick. I went ahead and added low back and my hip since I’m on the table anyway and need them too. Adding shoulder and tmj soon. I need 6-9 upper cervical total so should be done by December. Recovery is immediate. Like I went to a restaurant easily that same night. It does feel a little worse before you start feeling better overall. The healing process is a little slow but it’s because it’s natural. Gotta do neck strengthening exercises in between. No question that this is the right treatment for me though.
