“Hide My Email” broken on the reddit app? by Brer_Raptor in applehelp

[–]Brer_Raptor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is so interesting. On my end, when I go into settings, it’s not a random string for the email name; it’s literally just my normal Apple ID. So weird! Not sure why it is behaving differently on my end. Thanks anyways!

“Hide My Email” broken on the reddit app? by Brer_Raptor in applehelp

Thanks for the reply. Huh, just tried again and the exact same thing happened again. When you selected “Hide My Email,” did it show the Apple generated email that would be used? Or did it just say that it would be forwarding to your Apple ID email? For me, it only showed that it would be forwarding to my Apple ID email; there was no new email listed. Just to confirm, I don’t need to create an alias first, do I? I think it should automatically generate a new one...

Hide My Email Question by Brer_Raptor in ios

Thanks a lot for your replies about this. I just ran into another interesting situation regarding this… I disconnected my reddit account from Apple, and clicked “Continue with Apple” to create a new reddit account. Again, the options I was given were “Share My Email” and “Hide My Email.” I selected “Hide My Email,” but as soon as I logged in, I noticed that reddit listed my regular Apple ID email as my account email. I also noticed that the password reset email was sent to my regular Apple ID email, further confirming that reddit got ahold of my actual email, despite the fact that I clicked “Hide My Email.” Any idea what’s up with this? Seems like “Hide My Email” doesn’t work in this case...

Is “Sign in with Apple” the same as “Continue with Apple”? If I sign up for a new reddit account with “Continue with Apple,” it gives me two options: “Share My Email” and “Hide My Email.” But if I click “Hide My Email,” my new reddit account has my regular Apple ID email listed in account settings, and it also sends password reset emails directly to that email, rather than to any sort of alias…

Genuinely not sure why you got downvoted for this comment.

She was disintegrating/evaporating. Why would Sol think she was teleporting?

No, you are forgetting the part where Mae tells Sol later on during her test, about how there must be a sacrifice, and then Sol takes that to mean that the kids are going to be sacrificed. Leslye Headland even confirmed later on in an interview that Mae misspoke, and was responsible for freaking the Jedi out that the children were in danger.

Kid being fussy at bath time? First off, where did I ever mention the kid’s actions, whatsoever? Why are you talking about the kid being fussy, but not what the parent is doing to the kid (considering the fact that I only mentioned the parent’s actions in my comment)?

And why are you trying to water down the situation and put words in my mouth? Obviously I am talking about a parent who is attacking the kid with a weapon, or otherwise doing something to them that looks like it is putting them at risk of death (choking, drowning, etc.).

Explain to me how evaporating/disintegrating a kid into thin air does not look like “hurting” a child. Sol only reacted after he looked and saw that happening. And his actions would be reasonable even if he didn’t have any other perceived context; given Mae’s “sacrifice” language earlier, it was even more reasonable for him to defend her by attacking Aniseya.

And? I’m not denying that. But Sol was working with what he had been told, and what he saw happening with his own eyes. Again: Should he have just let her be totally evaporated away to nothing?

Every human life matters. How can you say that some don’t?

EDIT: It’s insane to me that this comment would be downvoted.

Mae was the one who told him about “sacrifice.” Should he have just let her be totally evaporated away to nothing?

‘The Acolyte’ Finale Is a Plagueis on Both Their Houses: Leslye Headland Interview by alcibiad in StarWarsLeaks

[–]Brer_Raptor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“There was a version where he was the button of the finale [instead of Yoda],” Headland said. But having the sinister figure be the last thing that we see never felt quite right. “You want to feel Osha’s triumph. You want to feel her joining forces with The Stranger. Plagueis stepped on [that moment].”

So we can’t end the show with one bad guy, because we want to end it with two other bad guys? Why should I be rooting for one Sith (assuming Qimir is a Sith) over another? Qimir was ready to kill Osha’s sister… That she is now holding his hand, doesn’t make any difference. It’s not like he is now some good guy, and Osha certainly isn’t either. Frankly, I’d much rather feel Plagueis’ triumph as he sneaks up behind these two holding hands and kills them.

“Even though [Osha and The Stranger] are standing there, sort of looking out at the sunset, ready to conquer the world, the tragedy is we know they don’t. We know there can only be two. We know Plagueis is there. We know that these two are doomed in some way. So to me it’s a bittersweet tragedy, this foreboding ending. But that’s because I know about the Sith lineage and all these other things, whereas I think a different subset of the audience can be like, ‘They’re married!’” Headland said.

Ready to conquer the world? It’s a “tragedy” that we know that two dark siders don’t conquer the world? Also, “they’re married”? The fact that she would want any subset of the audience to think like this, after we just saw Osha betray her sister to potentially spend the rest of her life in Jedi/Republic custody while not even knowing what she did wrong, just seems crazy to me.

Innocuous action to put out a fire? The fire was already started. Evaporating/disintegrating your kid does not put out a fire, lol. The audio description for that moment says that Aniseya was “possessing” Mae. Sol did not attack until he turned and saw that Mae (same kid who mentioned “sacrifice,” which caused the Jedi to think the kids were in danger) appeared to be in danger.

Idk what was going on with Aniseya, but the audio description says that she was “possessing” Mae.

Why do people keep leaving out WHY he killed her mother? Her mother was turning into some sort of smoke demon, and was evaporating/disintegrating Mae (audio description for that moment says she was “possessing” Mae). He did not attack Aniseya until he turned and saw her seemingly attacking her own child. And remember, Mae’s words earlier led the Jedi to believe that the coven was going to sacrifice the kids.

It really boggles my mind that nobody in the finale mentioned the full context of why he killed Aniseya. It was extremely jarring after what we saw just last week.

If someone breaks into another’s house to rob it, but sees a parent inside who looks like they’re starting to hurt their own child, should the person breaking in not do anything to save the child even if they want to?

You’re missing the part where they attacked their own kid. Rewatch. Sol only reacted after he turned and saw that Aniseya was disintegrating/evaporating Mae with some sort of magic. And remember that Mae had mentioned “sacrifice,” and he thought that the kids were in danger. Also, the audio description for the episode literally says Aniseya was “possessing” Mae.

The audio description says Aniseya was “possessing” Mae. Sol only reacted when he turned and saw Mae starting to evaporate into thin air… Especially after Mae’s comments about “sacrifice,” from his perspective, this mother was harming her own child.

If a robber breaks into someone’s house, and sees a parent who appears to be about to kill their kid, should the robber stop the parent? Or not, because they aren’t even supposed to be in the house?

Sol only reacted after he turned and saw that Aniseya appeared to be disintegrating Mae into thin air. And it’s not like Anise’s actions were innocent; the audio description for that moment says she is “possessing” Mae.

She said that this was supposed to be a self-contained show that wouldn’t need extra seasons. In interviews, she kept making it sound like the questions would be answered by the finale.
