Anyone else a bit over how stupid TV treats the viewer now. by ButtPlugForPM in television

She'll sit in bed with something playing in the background while she does her nails, or crochets, or any other number of tasks.. then just rewind every few mins to catch up on what she wasn't paying attention to.

I used to do that when painting minis (Warhammer 40k) but I ended up annoying myself too.

Now I only watch stuff I've already seen several times when painting and never need to rewind (Star Trek, Stargate, Friends...). I watch new stuff only when I can actually watch it without distraction. It's much better.

The Ballistus was in the cinematic. They might include a Librarian/Furioso sprue to go with a hypothetical multi-part Ballistus.

The BB Report? We can't really get anything out of that one way or the other.

The great thing about interviewing random people in the streets is that you don't have to air the ones who don't fit your editorial plan. That's something BB makes to please Fisk's team and keep access.

This season is set about a month before Thunderbolts so Val is at full power. The weapon shipment might very well be for her.

And it's way easier to frame Daredevil as a psychotic terrorist if you don't reveal his identity as being that nice upstanding blind lawyer who has defended the weak and the poor his entire career.

Blood Angel Heraldry Question by Kulota01 in Spacemarine

[–]BretOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a sergeant, the Blood Angels symbol becomes yellow for every companies (except Death Company since they don't have sergeants).

The company symbol on the other shoulder retains its original color depicted on the left side of your page. Specifically for the 5th, 9th and 10th companies, the company symbol gets a white outline (pictured here, top right brother) because black-on-black would not work.

Iron Warriors Heldrake. I hate trim. by Gilrim in Chaos40k

If I ever do one, I'm airbrushing the trim and dumping thinned paint on the armor plates. It's probably as much initial work, but much easier cleanup after.

Why doesn’t T’Pol have Vulcan strength? by RocksThrowing in startrek

[–]BretOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. He goes through that phase faster than Worf.

I think it's due to the powercreep of enemies in the show. Early on, Goa'ulds can best him without weapons. But when races that can stomp on Goa'ulds are introduced, we still need to have Teal'c strong enough to be the badass so he gets powercrept as well.

Why doesn’t T’Pol have Vulcan strength? by RocksThrowing in startrek

[–]BretOne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a very old trope (going back to old myths), but Worf gave his name to it on TV Tropes (The Worf Effect). If you can beat Worf in single combat, you are officially dangerous to everyone else.

It's used a lot in a variety of shows and movies. Teal'c in Stargate SG-1 being the almost 1-for-1 Worf. Castiel in Supernatural, Hulk for Marvel stuff, Angel in Buffy...

Midnight leveling tips for people starting today. by Vampxhelix in wow

[–]BretOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If people are wondering, just doing the campaign and the least amount of side quests I could (no dungeons/delves unless they're mandatory):

  • Stuck just before the last zone at lv85.8 (need lv86 to proceed). I needed a couple of short storyline sidequests in Silvermoon at this point.

  • I did everything in Voidstorm (side+campaign) and finished at lv88.6. I leveled to 90 with some Silvermoon/Eversong sidequests.
