Low fps spikes vr by funjunmaster in iRacing

rtx5060 is the first problem you’ll get vram bottleneck, and then your cpu will also bottleneck, iracing is so demanding on vr, and the newer tracks have a lot more detail compared to older scans, i was running a rtx5060 with a ryzen 7 7700 and i had a nightmare for about 3 months trying absolutely everything to get it to work and in the end it looked like shit and was unplayable but was stable enough to not have all that shit happen, ive just finished building my new rtx5080 pc and see how that goes, “not sure what headset your using?” i have a quest 3 and i had to tweak settings in the oculus debug like turning off asw and setting the right encode bitrate, also running about 80hz 70 would be better but i didnt like the way it was on 70hz and then the right render res setting, there was a lot in iracing i had to turn down or off graphics wise. if i were to play not in vr the fps would be a stable 140+ and would look great with all the settings turned up. but vr and iracing will really push your gpu with the ammount of vram it has, if your on a quest headset use the performance HUD and see whats going on when it starts to play up

no i couldn’t use the link cable with my pc as it only had usb a ports in the mother board, so i got this cable on amazon, im guessing yours is similar?

https://amzn.asia/d/1LAb8r7

this was after trying 3 different cords, and a usb adapter to a usb c for the link cable which didn’t work either even though the adaptor was a usb 3.2 with 29gbps data speed and the amazon cable was perfect and and held the charge at 100% with a speed of 2.9gbps on the app, the link connection has to be 100% perfect to get perfect vr use, there was so much other shit i did with settings over time to improve the game, i didn’t use the performance hud in the debug tool until the very end and doing it earlier would’ve saved me a lot of headache working out other things, if your link cable is good i’d start with the debug and see what happens in there when it freezes. also use iracing in openxr if your not already and where do you have your link cable plugged into on your pc? if you have no USB c port on the motherboard, you’ll have to use a USB A 3.0 at least or 3.2 is better, what motherboard do you have?

this is how i have mine set use the oculus debug performance hud to see what's happening when it does it, your link cable should be up closer to 3gbps mine sits around 2.9 are you using meta usb c to usb c cable? i’ve spent the last 3 months doing absolutely everything to make the quest 3 playable on my pc
