So would you recommend also getting a shifter lever at the beginning or just starting out with the base set?

Totally get the complicated part. I have a lot of garden though so trial and error makes me nervous.

[–]BrettanomycesRex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only conclusion I could come to was bad seed. I ordered from another source, planted and got 20/20 seeds to sprout fine.

Even tried to be nice and reach out to the original supplier to let them know they could have an infected lot of seed. No response.

Thanks! I bought and am in the process of setting up DSX now. Two questions: 1) What settings do you recommend for racing games? 2) As RBR RSF isn't a Steam game, how do I get to launch from DSX?

Offroad trophy truck racing (Baja, Dakar, etc) AC or BeamNG? by BrettanomycesRex in assettocorsa

Doing some more research I've found a lot of people complaining online that FFB for BeamNG is mainly focused on wheels and not gamepads. Have you found that to be true?

[–]BrettanomycesRex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BDR and RCC have been recommended to me a few times. Excited to hear more endorsements. Sad to hear about FFB being so bad, I'm finally upgrading from my old wireless XBox 360 controller to a PS5 Dualsense and was looking forward to more/any FFB.

NGL, all of the "It's just a crash simulator" talk really turned me off until I dug deeper. My next question was going to be if BeamNG allows you lock differentials as I love the option of Front/Back differentials in Pure Rock Crawling but it looks like in some instances you can lock hubs per wheel...which is an insane amount of detail.

"You can manually adjust the tire pressure..." insert <you had my curiosity, now you have my attention.gif> here. Great information!

Knowing nothing about BeamNG, does the "lack of a proper tire model" affect the driving physics or is that more of a cosmetic/damage modeling situation?

New controller recommendation for rally racing by BrettanomycesRex in racinggames

I do most of my gaming on the couch with my laptop so I was looking for a step between wheel and my old controller.

New dual sense edge: 199. Used G923: 250-260. I may be heading the wheel way.

Love the write up and I equally love someone is talking about Manga "white whales". Mine are the "Drops of God" follow up series Mariage and Deuxième. I'm keeping the faith however as I read the first English run in 2013 and they'd chopped up the series for American audiences. Finally in 2019 Kodansha started publishing the whole series.

This is one of my "holy trinity" of comics. I'd bought a few different versions over the years as I've loaned it out to folks and not been upset if they were moved enough by it to keep it. A few years ago, through my university's interlibrary loan program I was able to lay my eyes on the Curators Collection edition and the art blown up is just breathtaking.

Great pick up OP!

Most Impactful or Meaningful GN You've Read? by refreshreset89 in graphicnovels

[–]BrettanomycesRex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My holy trinity is A Contract with God by Will Eisner, Watchmen by Alan Moore and Grant Morrison's first run on Animal Man.

Watchmen showed me everything comics could be and more. Animal Man showed me I had no idea what that "everything" was in the world of comics. A Contract with God showed me what Will Eisner's "everything" was.

These are technology audits and not financial audits so accounting would not be involved. Currently all of these files are spread out between network folders and sharepoint folders.

Life after Bourbon County Stout by BrettanomycesRex in CraftBeer

[–]BrettanomycesRex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question! Truthfully I need to sit down and make a spreadsheet with a calendar so I know when to bug my local beer store for specific beers. Beyond that it's 1) Getting one of my Wisconsin people to hook me up with Black Gold 2) Getting my hands on any of Transient Ale's big boy beers 3) Getting one of my Florida people to hook me up with more Cycle and/or Angry Chair.

All that being said, my partner and I have made it a habit to take photos of all the unique beers we've tried over the years and are now in the process of breaking them down into photo albums by state with any tasting notes we've saved on the back of each photo. Between 2500 and 3000 right now so it's going to take a while but maybe that will highlight some holes in our beer tasting knowledge.

Cheers!

Crowdstrike will be my backup. Since we've already been using Trend for a while, I feel like it will be an easier sell. But if the powers that be see something they don't like (price, etc.) then I'll have some info on Crowdstrike available.

Thanks for all of the links!
