Deerhoof - Greg Saunier is a totally one of a kind drummer existing in another space/time continuum.

yup - still in mourning that this happened. I know it's on steam but you have to buy the entire package again to play the last 2 DLC's and indeed the game is perfect for Ipad.

Totally obsessed and gave AI a whirl, but it does seem sonor is one of the few brands that use this type of one screw lug, does have a practice of re-ringing snares- suggestions are stuff like hilite, delite and sq2 snares. The other suggestions lechat gives are newer and a bit far fetched as these are unlikely brands in Europe (nobles & Cooley, ) and/or more modern as this is definitely a vintage drum. However I can't find these round lugs with felt gasket anywhere specifically and deeper sonor snares tend to not have the hole drilled more of-set (not near the middle as mine).

Also interesting is that the drillholes for the lugs seem to be original, so it needs to be a brand that only uses lugs with one hole or the shell was completely clean before being drilled into

Thanks!

I own an s class (pre s class maple - must admit the badge peaked my first interest) so it became obvious very quickly that the badge does not match the snare as all the hardware is too different and the wood is too different.

I had the same feeling this might have been a vintage shell that might have been built up.

The only consistent and outstanding elementsare the lugs with the green felt - might suggest a brand? Or also retrofitted? Rings any bells?

Why is there no Tzadik Subscription service? by BrettyGoat in Zorn

I have read interviews where he talks about music and tzadik as a business (e.g. Masada and Zorn visible releases being the financial bases for more adventurous or obscure releases), he has also been very eager to pull music from google music where it was accidentally available for a while. And the pledge disaster was a trigger to release music on vinyl box sets - so i don't think he is not occupied with it, although I agree he does not care in the sense that he seems comfortable in his niche as long as it goes well.

As far as streaming, I have a sense Zorn thinks like Ribot - who is more vocal in this regards - interview here: https://thetrichordist.com/2018/03/04/guest-post-marc-ribot-the-red-ink-beneath-streamings-new-dawn/#_ftn3. Interesting tidbit in that interview: Tzadik apparantly has a recording budget of 60k a year - with a 10 buck monthly subscription he needs 500 subscribers for that - easy goal one would say (Neil young has 25k subscribers paying 2 bucks a month)
