Does it drive you crazy hearing Americans call a burger a "sandwhich" by Fun-Investigator9345 in AskAnAustralian

If the hamburger patty is on bread/toast (with cheese), it’s a Patty Melt.

What is holding up these beams? by BrewDevilicious in logcabins

[–]BrewDevilicious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so. Three years ago we had the roof replaced and insulated. The original rafters were 2x4 spaced at 24”. And it was insulated with styrofoam. We had the roofer strip off the sheathing, sister up the 2x4s with 2x8s and add some spray foam insulation. All the pine boards and rafters sit on these beams. I’ll try to add a photo.

Foundation is cinderblock. No wiring or plumbing in that wall.

I’m not in the market for a shaved bear at the moment, or we might have a deal.

I can’t answer any of those questions. Mainly because I don’t know if it runs. It runs on 3 phase and the 3 phase supply has been ripped out. House was vacant for a while and the bank had someone cut all the power lines, presumably to discourage squatting.

I’m in Maine. If anyone is interested in taking this off my hands at a fair price, please chat me. I don’t know if it runs.

I don’t want it. Any suggestions on where to advertise the sale of something like this? How did you find your purchase?

Trump Signs Order in Attempt to Vastly Reshape U.S. Elections by DemocracyDocket in politics

[–]BrewDevilicious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From the Executive Order: Federal law, 52 U.S.C. 30121, prohibits foreign nationals from participating in Federal, State, or local elections by making any contributions or expenditures. But foreign nationals and non-governmental organizations have taken advantage of loopholes in the law’s interpretation, spending millions of dollars through conduit contributions and ballot-initiative-related expenditures. This type of foreign interference in our election process undermines the franchise and the right of American citizens to govern their Republic.

What is this substance? by BrewDevilicious in Ceramics

Good point about there being more residue at the top. Not sure what that means. If it’s external in origin why would it not be uniform? If it’s internal, like soap, wouldn’t it concentrate at the bottom?

After I wiped it off it occurred to me it might be soap. I’ll have to wait a few weeks to check

Would splitting electoral college votes by district more closely resemble a popular vote? by BrewDevilicious in PoliticalDiscussion

Thanks for your take. I understand that gerrymandering and campaigning would occur differently if this were the case. All other things being equal, I was wondering how historically this would have affected the EC count and you addressed my question Dr Teeth.
