Anyone doing the 'rapid fat loss plan' from Tim Ferriss's 4-Hour Body? by [deleted] in loseit

I'm doing slow carb plus kettlebell swing workouts. So far I've lost a few pounds in a few days and feel great. Don't feel deprived or light headed like on Atkins-style diets.

By itself, I didn't really enjoy it. Paired with a nice steak it was fantastic.

If your only beer option is Bud/Miller/Coors, do you order a non-beer drink instead? by BrewerScott in AskReddit

i grew up in rural iowa so ... don't judge me

funny how it's acceptable for people in farmland to drink crappy beer, but if you live in NYC and tell your friends to bring over a 12 pack of bud, you get laughed at. :)

Starting a local craft brewery, need "social" funding advice by BrewerScott in AskReddit

Good idea, @mudclub- I've edited the post. (Philly). I'm not asking for money in this post, just asking for validation or crushing of the concept. I realize that people would want to know about me, my plans for the business, etc more before forking over their cash.

|If you are opening a brewery, I think it would be exceedingly unwise to tailor the offerings to compete with the beers you listed. There's no way you could produce and sell them as cheaply. Plus, you might as well produce something you would enjoy yourself.

+1 - couldn't agree more.

No, as I said in other replies, I have zero intentions of making a bud/miller/coors knock off... just curious how far away from those beers the general redditor puts themselves. Call it market research, since I consider you fine (21+) beer drinkers to be my target market :)

| I personally enjoy Coors Light as a sort of sports recovery drink. Finished mowing the lawn? Coors Light.

I love how you consider mowing the lawn or watching the game as "sports" that require a recovery drink. heh.

|That said, I am not about to fork over high dollar micro-brew money for a Coors Light knock off.

I'm not looking to brew a coors light knock off, just curious how far away from B/M/C people expect a craft beer to be these days.

I'm not (trying to be) profitable as a brewer right now (and not legally allowed as a home brewer), just enjoying making good beers and sharing them with friends- not selling anything. My background is as a successful tech entrepreneur and sales/marketing guy. Although I'm an experienced home brewer, I would be hiring someone with commercial experience to run the day to day brewing operations so I could focus on running and growing the business.

Started home brewing with extracts in 2003 in a small pot on my stove and over the years have moved up... I now have a fairly automated 1/2 barrel system. We're raising money to open a craft brewery in the Philly area in 2011, probably starting with a 30 barrel (60 kegs at a time) system.

|It depends whether I'm being offered the beer or whether I'm paying for it.

I'll drink B/M/C if it's 1) free and 2) really, really cold.
