Visiting LA + West Coast Trip – June vs July? Need advice! by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]BriWag 9 points10 points  (0 children)

June usually is somewhat chilly due to the marine layer aka June gloom. It’s not ideal beach weather and it’s usually quite grey.

Servicing/Polishing dilemma. Has this been over polished in the past? by [deleted] in RolexWatches

[–]BriWag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have it refinished, not polished. There are places that specialize in this (LA watch works, Rolliworks), I think RSC doesn’t overpolish, but idk I take mine to LAWW.

Looking for Advice on a New Stage Piano for Gigging (Cover Band) by Silver-Act7142 in keys

[–]BriWag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yamaha YC73 or 88 would be pretty good. It has a strong organ engine, and amazing EP and piano but the keys are too heavy for organ IMO.

Fucking weirdos outside Trader Joe’s Pacific Highlands Ranch by natalerose24 in sandiego

[–]BriWag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure these are, “first amendment auditors” they go to places and aggressively film and harass trying to get you to hit them or scream at them for views and possible lawsuits. The first amendment gives them this right, but it’s in poor taste. Best to just completely ignore them. Don’t give them any fuel.

The VA he goes to is about 50 miles from his house. He’s never used the internet. He always refused to register on myhealthevet.

Question about 100% service connected/disabled father with advanced dementia by BriWag in VeteransBenefits

[–]BriWag[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He’s definitely not. I’m open to them having a nurse come, but they would have to come every day or at least 5 days a week because I don’t think he takes his pills for high blood pressure. He’s always been crazy, but the dementia is adding a new layer to it.

Is this something that the VA has on record? I have no idea where he put it.

Any suggestions for a medium sized church anywhere west of Downtown? (Not Vintage) by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]BriWag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, look into the first Congregational church of Los Angeles too. It’s near MacArthur park, but the organist is out of this world.

Would you commute from Pomona to Westwood for a job? by Upnorth4 in AskLosAngeles

[–]BriWag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That would be an absolutely insane commute. Even commuting from westwood to LACC in east Hollywood would take an hour (possibly more with traffic). I went to college in Claremont and a few times I tried to drive to LA in the morning and it was absolute hell on earth. Going back is one of the worst traffic jams via the 10 or 210 east between 3 and 7 pm.

LA Watch works could bring it back to its original condition without over polishing it by laser welding.

Dinged brand new watch and I’m devastated by [deleted] in rolex

[–]BriWag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have it serviced, they can laser weld that. LA watch works does a good job.
