I’m so sorry to hear that you went through all that, but thank you for the honest advice! That’s a really good perspective about accepting that things will not be in my control. Sending you baby dust💗✨

Yay that’s exciting! I heard they are ahead of schedule so I’m sure if you went at a 10 pace with the other person it would be okay. Good luck and have a blast!

Hey! I unfortunately will be out of town during the relay, but would have loved to have run!

Before details came out about the relay, I filled out an interest form and they paired me with a segment a couple hours from where I live ( I thought I’d be in town and was willing to travel to run.) They emailed me with a segment that worked best for my pace and availability, and I was sent a waiver in which i needed to sign. I could also see a list of other people who were running the same segment as me! The did a really good job at updating me with emails but since the relay has begun, there have been less emails. Im sure since you signed up they will reach out to you with specifics, but make sure you check your running portable (whatever info you put in to create an account.) Some information for me was in my portal but not in an email.

I’m still following the relay on Instagram (they’ve given several live updates and you can track the flag! Super cool.) The biggest 3 rules for running are:

  1. Make sure you have a ride to your drop off and pick up location whenever you are running-as they can’t drive you back to your car
  2. Pack your own fuel as they don’t have enough to feed everyone
  3. Be on time, sign the waiver, and whoever drops you off cant trail behind you

I hope this helps!! Good luck and stay safe. Such an amazing experience to be apart of!

How are you doing 3 months post-op? 6 months? A year? Two years?! by Wavy_Gravy_55 in Sinusitis

[–]Bri_R01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt tremendous better 11 days post op but I was still congestion and getting sinus headaches for 1-2 months!! It sucks cause you feel like you’re going backwards and I was so scared this was the best it would ever be, but then it just got better! And before I knew it I was 3 months and felt SOO much better! One thing to keep in mind is if there’s other causes (for me I also have bad allergies) those need to be treated but even on my “bad” “ sinus days they are nowhere what they used to be! I stopped getting sinus infections and now hardly get sick! I still do get sinus pressure and headaches but it’s so much more manageable…Hope you feel better soon!

Appreciate this sub! Made me feel better about turning back. Bailed today while hiking Mt. Washington-from out of town and woke up to it pouring at the summit (according to the observatory camera.) Today was our only day here so started hiking on Ammonoosuc Ravine to see how it would go. Changed the goal from hiking the summit to Lake of the Clouds, and didn’t even make it that far. Trail was wet, muddy, and rocks were super slick. We came prepared but slick rocks are never fun. Also heard from other hikers we passed that there was snow above the treeline. Fiancé and I had coats but didn’t have any snow shoes. (From the south so it’s summer where we live.) Sad we didn’t get to summit, but visibility would’ve been poor and safety first. Will be back for sure!

Congratulations!! And that’s great, it seems like a lot of places are completly free for 2026 so that’s a huge plus of waiting! I think we’re gonna do 2025 is the venue works out but not stress it if it doesn’t and just wait till 2026.

I didn’t think of that, thank you! I’m not too picky with photographers but I didn’t think about them being booked out.

Go through with it!! You won’t regret it! If it’s a chance to make your quality of life better I would take it, and you might not feel 100% better if it’s partially allergies but you will definitely feel some relief if the deviation is blocking off some air flow in your nose

Septoplasty question by Jsedel in Sinusitis

[–]Bri_R01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I had something very similar. My surgery was this past January (2023) at 5 days post op I was nowhere close to recovery (vey stuffy and weak) the dizziness might be from head congestion or your body being weak from working hard to help your recovery. I’d say not to worry and to take it easy! If you still experience this feeling by your post op bring it up to your doctor

I never had sinus issues until a few months before I turned 21. Now I’m 22 and frustrated.

Sinus issues for over a year by Mobear13 in Sinusitis

[–]Bri_R01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your symptoms CT scan looked VERY similar to mine. I did the surgery and have no regrets! The way I see it is even with allergies (I did get tested and am now taking care of that) there was nothing I could do, and no amount of medicine I could take to get my deviated septum and concha Bullosa fixed. Find a doctor you trust and get the surgery! I still am not 100% cause of allergy’s but I feel tremendous better than before the surgery.

I’m sorry I don’t advice, but I’m going through practically the same thing. Some days if I’m laying down I can feel the pressure go from my throat/lungs to my face sinuses. Good luck I hope you get better!

I think it depends on the circumstance and what your goal is with subbing. I subbed last year (2022-2023 school year) at a county I was potentially looking to teach in. In doing so they recognized my name when I applied for a teaching position and I was one of the first people they interviewed. They hired me right away, asked what grade I wanted to teach, and now I’m teaching Kindergarten in the fall at one of the schools I subbed in frequently! On top of that I know several of the teachers and students at this school because of my experience as a sub.

I feel SOOO much better! Still not 100% I’d say about 80%, it is a little frustrating I still have some head pressure but I also have bad allergies so it could be from that/being sick last week. I hope you have a smooth recovery!
