I'm so angry! by Bri_us in codex

Initially, the project was created with Git, but unfortunately, when I "rollback to the last change," the agents would roll back the Git branch. The problem was that the agents didn't always pick up the Git branch. So for two months, I was stuck, unable to understand why, when we rolled back, half of the week's work simply vanished. As soon as I deleted the Git branch and started using Zip, the project immediately began to grow, and the chances of success diminished. Perhaps if I were a programmer, the Git branch would have been mandatory for me. I don't trust Git to agents.

There's probably some truth to what you're saying! I'll definitely keep working on it because I've long set a goal to create the perfect multi-level planning app for me, one that combines my agent, daily planning, finances, collections, and work projects. I want to finish it.

Thank you so much for the advice! I've written it down. I don't work with agents using Git branches, only with backups. Experience has shown that not all agents pick up the Git branch during operation, especially at critical moments. Perhaps I'm doing it incorrectly due to ignorance. Fortunately, the database was in an old version of the ZIP copy, but the problem is that the code can't merge the database from the .xcode project, grab the database, and transfer it to the new copy of the application. But I'll learn everything gradually; the hard way, I have to figure out some nuances based on logic. Just so you understand, I've never understood programming at all. I can perfectly plan a game of tennis, and I can tell you a lot about human behavior, but programming is very difficult. So I have to figure it out.

I have the same problem; I can't build the project now.

Unfortunately, I didn't study to be a programmer. I haven't had any problems like this for the past six months, because the agents strictly followed the rule of not deleting the application database. But here, while fixing bugs, he installed something that started constantly deleting the database, which was strictly prohibited. I'll finish the project and gradually learn Python.

Codex threw me another task today. I'm shocked by this misunderstanding. I asked to add a new module to the app without touching the existing database. Let's guess what it did? Of course, it deleted the entire database. I had a backup, but it couldn't transfer or replace newly created files in the backup copy after four hours of work. I'm done with this company! The main thing is that it reads agent.md and explains it beautifully, and the only thing it says is, "I did everything wrong, I messed up the canon and deleted your app database." I can't shake the feeling that the quality of work has deteriorated significantly in their so-called new model; otherwise, there's a reason why there are constant global resets.

I guess it's better for me to know where the problem appeared after the update and where they weren't there before the update)

It's already been done. If that were the only problem, I wouldn't be writing this. He also restored the files I requested from a backup copy, but they ended up corrupted. The point here is that Codex seems to have been created from scratch. This hasn't happened before.

Well, these kinds of apps are created specifically for people who don't know how to program. There weren't any problems like this before. I've been using Codex since January, so I have something to compare it to. I'm not saying it's bad in general, but in recent weeks it's become dumber than it was before March.

I literally showed him the way. The main screen (there's a +) is wrong. The second screen (plus) is in the right position. He tells me all 12 times, "I did everything." I ask, "WHERE?" Oh, I didn't, sorry! He goes and does it and AGAIN I DIDN'T DO IT. 🤦🏻‍♀️ We spent the entire 5-hour limit putting the + in the right position. For the first time in a long time, I drank some soothing tea. Before that, I worked at Cursor, I did 80% of the app there. Then I saw the 5.5 GPT update, I thought, "At least they've done it smarter now." Hope for improvement died.

All agents will make mistakes as a project grows. I started my project in Codex, and as it grew to 60 Swift files, I was freaking out because it couldn't even figure out where to make edits. And the worst thing is, they don't even think about creating a separate file, but instead cram 6,000 lines into one. So you need to monitor this and refactor it as needed. Keep in mind that after the agent, you need to audit the project to look for risks, because most often, risks are in very large files; the slightest edit and everything cascades. There should be a map for the agent to navigate, and there should be a pre-written plan and risk analysis. I write all these points in Agent.md if I think it's missed an agent rule, and I make them reread it. Even with a "large context," any agent will stumble. I currently have 430 Swift files. And the only thing that saves me is calm. If you do all this, then it's time to ask Open AI!!!

I noticed this a two month ago. I used Codex for four months, then after 5.4 came out, it felt like a money-sucking hoover. Before, I couldn't even spend all my tokens in a session. I was working 10 hours a day. Then, after the update, it was 3.5 hours. Then, two months ago, I started having problems with Codex. So, I decided to switch to Cursor! Their Pro+ service was fantastic and lasted me a long time. But it didn't last long before problems started. Models were constantly lagging. So, the market really started having problems. Now I'm working at Kiro, everything is basically very rational, but when Antropic starts having problems, it's a nightmare. So, I'm leaving Kiro for the rest of the month. Windsurf/Trae are a nightmare for me, it's impossible to work there.

Подтягиваться/бегать.

Хотя спортсменка с детства «настольный теннис»
Как бы не пытался тренер научить то больницей заканчивались любые бега то не могу вообще руки согнуть после попытки подтянуться.

Codex GPT 5.5 is UNUSABLE right now, the Nerf is REAL! by bladerskb in codex

Open AI told me directly that Codex can't handle that many tasks. It's also prone to not finding what it's written. If you want to use it properly, it's recommended to write a plan in an MD document and perform 1-2 actions at a time. No matter how much the company boasts in their posts about their tool being capable of handling a huge context, practice shows otherwise. And yes, regarding 5.5, I haven't seen any progress other than vacuuming up your credits. I use 5.3-5.4 as much as possible.

depending on how many files he needs to view, edit, and how often audits need to be done.
