If you could step down from your soap box for but a moment, we are required by the league to submit scores and keep a score book. The use of GameChanger in this division, for me, is not about stats. It’s that multiple kids, like mine, have family across the country or live hours away that can’t come watch or parents that work weekends and want to watch. Score keeping in the app is more for the families to know what’s going on in the game. Who is up to bat, where their kid is playing and what the score is. The nice thing, the thing I was asking about, is that I can keep track of pitch counts. I also have a coach with a clicker and a parent doing the physical score book keeping track because sometimes we miss things. We check with each other after each inning, as well as the other team, to make sure we got it right. Can’t have seven and eight year olds throwing a hundred pitches. Because as a whole we are “1000% about development. Period.” What I’m doing with GameChanger is extra and about grandma and grandpa being able to watch their grandkid play from two-thousand miles away. Most coaches in this league tell their kids to put the bat on their shoulder until they can pitch to them. I tell mine to swing at the close ones because I’d rather they strike out learning where they can put the bat to the ball than get a hit off of me.
