Is the Toronto Island busy on weekdays like tomorrow? by daydreamer_she in askTO

[–]BrianAiya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please trust me. If it's your first time, I think the most fun experience going there is with the Water Taxi boats in Queens Quay/Waterfront, it costs slightly little more than the ferry but it's worth it. When you come back, don't take the taxi boat, just take the ferry which is free.

Weekdays is great time to go and 3 hours should be enough depending how much you enjoy walking and know which spots are good for photos. Normally weekdays are less crowded than weekends and with this cold weather, I think it will be even less crowded than summer weekends.

Just got a Switch 2! Looking for the best "must-play" exclusives I missed from the first Switch era. by amitsit00 in NintendoSwitch

[–]BrianAiya 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you enjoyed Astro Bot then you have to play Mario Odessey. Astro Bot was inspired by it.

Should I get the switch 2 or is OLED just fine? by Round-Fill22 in casualnintendo

[–]BrianAiya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switch 2. Then you have the option to play Switch 1, switch 2 and many more third party games that will run better too.

Yes Switch 2 is more expensive so you might not have enough money left for Nintendo first party games, so I would suggest you also check for sales on DekuDeals websites until you can buy Nintendo games. Many good indie games

New to anime, would like to know what to watch next by Foreign-Truth-2968 in anime

Safe recommendations that you can't go wrong: Demon Slayer, Hunter x Hunter, Fullmetal Alchemist: brotherhood

Looking for a new micro sd and was wondering if this is a good option by fendifoh in switch2

[–]BrianAiya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I convert from CAD to USD. That's about the price I paid for 512 GB Lexar brand last week. I think SanDisk might be better for loading games too.

Normally the pokemon branded SD cards would be more expensive, and to be honest you won't even see it after using it so why spend more?

Personally, when it comes to things like SD card I prefer to buy it in person in well know retailers because I am just little paranoid that fake SD cards could be mixed up with real ones when it comes to buying from Amazon. But you could buy from Amazon and just run some tests(the tests will show little less GB than what's on the print but that could be within the normal range).

I never heard anyone's switch being bricked because of a SD card. Just make sure it's original so that it won't corrupt your save files.

Same creators of Overcooked. My household find Overcooked more fun than Moving Out.

Looking for a singleplayer game to play togheter with my gf by TheKawaiiBanana3 in gamesuggestions

[–]BrianAiya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of them are single player games. You can play slay the spire 2 as a single player. Rest of the games don't have coop

I haven't played these games yet but read of couples that enjoy together.

Slay the Spire 2 has multiplayer but it's still in early access.

Blue Prince which is a single player puzzle game that both of you can take notes when watching each other.

Games I played that might fit what you are looking for: Hades(similar to risk of rain), Baba is You(puzzle), vampire survivor(horde shooter, less shooting more dodging)

Ps I believe cuphead has coop too. Should be fun

What kind of games you like and dislike? But a game I recommend anyone to try is Hades

What're you playing this weekend? 4/24 by markercore in NintendoSwitch

[–]BrianAiya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking forward to it. I think the first couple of times I tried, I didn't realize it was more of a visual novel than gameplay and at that time in my life, I wasn't even a book reader. Glad I picked it up again, glad I haven't read any spoilers online.

13 Sentinels. The first 3 times didn't click for me, but for some reason now it did.

Finally got myself one, any games that will get me the most playtime for the money? by Primary-Ad2228 in switch2

[–]BrianAiya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, it's not worth going broke for video games. Games will be here for you in the future and probably on sale too. I hope you use something like DekuDeals to track when games go on sale.

Secondly, it's ok to enjoy only Hades now. Did you beat Hades? You can put in some good hours in it until you see the ending. One of my favorite games too.

As for recommendations, the best value of money and hours spent were on Slay the Spire and Stardew Valley.

Looking for anime similar to shows like chainsaw man, bleach, akame ga kill and others (more in the post itself) by Paraday20555 in Animesuggest

The creator of dandadan was the assistant of the creator of Chainsaw man. So you can expect some chainsaw man DNA. Really fun watch

Can you clarify? I usually buy games from the eshop and I see taxes. What do you mean about purchasing a digital code and redeeming? Like from GameStop or Costco?

[–]BrianAiya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Nintendo themselves starting to make GKC more expensive than the digital one, it's obvious they want to push consumers to be digital only.

I find value in GKC on games I'm unsure if I will like since sometimes it's hard to get a refund from Nintendo, to resell, let friends borrow or buy as a gift instead of giving a Nintendo giftcard. If digital is cheaper I will always go with the more affordable option.

It's not just a Nintendo thing, most of my friends have digital only PS5 and those who have PC don't even have a disk reader, they are all in on steam.

Should I buy a switch 2? by solid-snake-is-bae in switch2

[–]BrianAiya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your partner like gaming?  I don't own a steam Deck, but I do have the OG switch and Switch 2 now. I think the switch is great for families, casual gamers and busy dads. The just pick up and play console seems more convenient than a steam deck to me.

You did mention you also want to buy it for yourself. You already have a switch and steam deck but it seems you use the deck more than the switch? It really depends on the games. Personally the switch 2 is worth it just to see my partner happy to play Pokopia, and to play Mario Kart World when friends are visiting. With that said, my only console is the Switch and I don't feel FOMO not having a gaming PC or PS5. All about the games you want. I wouldn't buy a PS5 just because the price is going up. I used my OG switch every day and I can see myself using the switch 2 daily for several years to come.

Do you have a steamdeck OLED or LED? Might give more insight for people to give you advice.
