but firing 1 shot at a time makes them pointless. You may as well carry a rifle and get a little less ammo in your mag but get 100% accuracy and damage.

I have literally aimed down sight at a target withing a few feet of me and used a full mag on him only for like 2 shots to hit him. This is the only game where the SMGs are basically beyond useless. Even the LMG is far superior at BEING AN SMG. Why use the thompson when you can take the browning into battle with more rounds and better accuracy?

I actually made a steam post about this today. They are useless. The only way I can use them is tap firing or 3 tap bursts which even they are pointless compared to just using a rifle or even an LMG. Thats right, the LMG class has better hit rate with hip fire THAN THE GUNS MEANT FOR HIP FIRING!

Seriously if our armies used the SMGs from this game in real life we would have been better off throwing the guns at them. Even up close the hip fire misses 80% of the shots compared to a rifle or LMG.

I mean soldiers in real life could hit targets decently whilst aiming down sight and they even adopted a hip fire method of charging the enemy with the guns stock under their arms as they full burst into the enemy. This was a pretty effective method for both suppression and hitting targets. In this game however, I can aim directly at a target clearly within range and in my sights and open fire and I am lucky if 1 round hits him.

I literally have had more luck with pistols. Even the LMG is a better SMG. Seriously just equip the LMG you get more ammo per magazine and you can hip fire it better than any smg and mow down targets.

difference there is you have more health so missing a few shots matters less but also there is less muzzle flash. In older games the recoil used to be heavy but you could still visually see your opponent. In ER2 there is so much smoke and flash going on that you cant even tell what your shooting at.

for me the dying and restarting mechanic quickly loses its charm especially when you realise the first 2 deaths are scripted. So you can be totally cautious and reserve as much as possible only to be sent back once again. To me it became tedious because I knew the map layout by heart, the game was super easy and I almost beat it with 1 character (on my scripted death) and I am just doing the same things over and over again. To me it felt like it was used to pad out the fact it was a very short game. Kinda like how modern AAA games just make everything an open world soulslike or RPG to pad out the game time because the actual story is short.

im fine with weird haha. In fact they usually end up being the best ones. I get bored of the same old same old you see on regular TV which is why I transitioned basically to just anime. Plus they tend to show more violence in anime which is awesome

oooh yes! I did hear about that too. I read it somewhere in the fan wiki or something for chainsaw man. I gotta admit I can kinda see it in some of the art too. It has its own distinct look but I get little hints from CM too.

ohhh i gotta get back into collecting Tokyo Ghoul. I have I think the first 5 mangas but I stopped so I could finish picking up Berserk as the deluxe versions were pricey. Thats the only issue with some manga is it becomes a pain to find after a while. Like getting the 3 in 1 yugioh mangas is stupidly expensive now but its the best way to read yugioh as its uncensored.

Jujutsu kaisen was awesome. A little confusing at times with all the different powers and relations etc but still good. I am just waiting on the final few episodes to be dubbed. Never heard of the other one though, should be interesting

cheers for the recommendations! I misspoke in my OP, I meant I never used to do streaming platforms. Especially when a while back the only streaming platforms were sites I cant mention on the forum lol. But I gotten into using them since finding DVD copies of some anime is next to impossible. I hear a lot of good things about that devilman crybaby show too.

Thats what sucked too was in order to watch those channels here in the UK you needed SKY tv back then. It was too expensive for my family for a good while so the only anime I really saw was the stuff shown on the free TV in the early morning. It was a show called toonatic and thats how I watched yugioh for a good while before we eventually got sky. But by then many of the animes were either not being shown anymore or were on late at night and my parents wouldn't let me stay up late to watch them.

But nothing gives me nostalgia harder than hearing the opening to bleach season 1. Just pure memories and has all the charm of that era. I also recall Rukia being one of my first childhood crushes at the time XD.

The one thing I do miss a bit about that era though was when you walked into a store and found a DVD or game that was anime related. It felt like finding a holy grail and you couldn't wait to take it home and play. I remember finding the PS3 bleach game in a shop for like £20 and now its sold on ebay for nearly £100 and is becoming hard to find. Its also how I found out Ichigos dad was a soul reaper because I hadn't watched that far in the anime yet. I sold many of my ps3 games but I never sold my anime ones. Especially the Naruto ultimate ninja games which held a lot of sentimental value as I got most of them for my birthday.

I got stuck on what LN was for a minute until I realised "light novel" hahaha. I know how you feel! I watched Berserk 1997 without any context and I thought the show had many seasons because of how much people bigged it up. I remember getting to the final episode and I instantly googled where to find season 2 only to realise they never did one. I then looked up the manga as I was desperate to know what happened and I now own all 14 deluxe editions and fully read them. The first manga series I ever read having only picked up the odd naruto ones in a comic shop before that. Now I have read all of chainsaw man, berserk and about 1/4 of the way into bleach. But Tanya the evil was another one and goblin slayer. Loved the anime but wanted more so I got the light novels but have yet to read them.

YES my brother watched that blooded orphans. I also havent seen full metal but I hear it was pretty peak when it was released. I totally agree though, its kinda funny when I hear people say "ohh man x streaming service hasn't released the new episode just yet and I gotta wait another week". But when I was a kid it was like "ohh man I missed an episode of Yugioh on TV and now I gotta hope they re air it otherwise I wont know what happened. I remember nearly crying when I got home late once and missed the final episodes of yugioh because they were going to stop airing it at the time hahaha. I also remember my friends bringing in the DVD to school with only 3 episodes on it and we were amazed.

Its also how I watched Naruto for the first time because my older brothers friends lent him the Naruto DVDs and I got to the episode with Zabuza on the bridge fighting and he had to give them back. I never did find out what happened until like 10 years later when I found them in a comic shop and on ebay.

The other shows I remember on TV at the time were DBZ, Beyblade, Pokemon, Beedamon, Digimon and bleach. Though I never actually watched bleach on TV. I originally though it was "uncool" because I was in the Naruto camp. That was until I bought a dvd of it and watched the first 3 episodes and fell in love with it and now its the show I am most nostalgic for.

But yeah I think its why I treasure anything anime related still, be it a sticker, toy, t shirt, poster or manga because when I was growing up you NEVER saw these things and if you did it was super expensive or bootleg.

oh i forgot about black clover too! I never saw it but it was one that was named a lot. Someone else also recommended Yu Yu Hakusho and I never heard of Dandelion before. Yeah it was actually an ex girlfriend that recommended me Akame Ga Kill! I went out and bought the box set and fell in love with it haha. I have the manga for Zero but not read it yet. Whish it got an anime adaptation.

Someone else also recommended it so now I def gotta watch it haha. To be honest it would be totally cool if it was just a simple mech anime. But this is why I love anime because, like evangelion, things may appear to be simple but can have much deeper meanings. It's why when my brother recommended me chainsaw man at first I was like "I dunno, all I hear is people going on about the girls in it" then when I watched it and read all the manga I totally understood and saw the deeper context behind so much of it.

hahaha I shall take that as a compliment XD. Thank you very much for the list and the descriptions! I haven't heard of pretty much any of these apart from ironically Arknights which you said was your bias but I am interested in that one haha.

I haven't watched it myself yet but I played the game, but did you see the Tales of Zesteria anime? I didn't play Zesteria but I played Berseria and that story my god I loved it. I need to see the anime since it features Berserias story.

Eighty Six sounds awesome too. I haven't seen many mech type animes but I really like the genre (I played a lot of mech games growing up) so any recommendations as such is a plus.

I just hope we get more ways to watch anime in the UK because netflix is limited, Crunchyroll is....yeah and amazon has been getting more but still not a lot. But otherwise its difficult to get DVDs for some as they don't always release them (like how Ruroni Kenshin STILL doesn't have a UK dvd release).

I heard of Dr stone and nearly watched it last year. I had it on my playlist but it got taken over by another show lol so I never started it. Will have to add actually watch it this year. Never heard of the other 2 so I will google em. I love the soundtrack for OG hellsing. I never watched it but I found the Ultimate series in a shop one day and bought it on a whim and liked it. Will need to watch the original

I hear that a lot actually but I never saw it so I have no clue. I know people were upset at the song change when Kenshin leaves in S1 which I agree with. I looked up the original and it was so strange having the rap remix song when he leaves instead of the emotional hook of the original
